Long-term garbage dumping and public defecation have occurred in the old night market area of Caonan Village, Wuri District, Taichung. A citizen posted on Facebook that they recently discovered a dog's corpse, approximately 2 years old, wrapped in a quilt and discarded in the bushes. The Taichung City Animal Protection and Epidemic Prevention Office stated today that they received a report on March 31st. The dog's body was severely decomposed. Upon scanning, a microchip was found, and the owner was notified to handle the remains. The owner paid the fee for the Animal Protection Office to assist with cremation. However, due to the owner's arbitrary disposal of the deceased pet's body, the Animal Protection Office has issued a fine of NT$3,000 according to the "Taichung City Regulations on Pet Body Disposal and Pet Life Memorial Business Management."
