US Expands Crackdown on Chinese Tech Products; Beijing: Will Firmly Defend Rights

According to The Paper, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning responded to related media questions during a regular press conference this afternoon, stating that China firmly opposes the US practice of overstretching the concept of national security. Such practices seriously obstruct normal economic and trade exchanges between Chinese and American enterprises and are contrary to the interests of all parties, including US enterprises and consumers.

Mao Ning emphasized, 'China will continue to firmly defend its legitimate and lawful rights and interests.'

Reuters reported that the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) stated on the 8th that it will vote this month on a proposal to comprehensively ban Chinese laboratories from testing electronic devices such as smartphones, cameras, and computers used in the United States.

The report stated that the FCC had already banned laboratories owned or controlled by the Chinese government from testing electronic products destined for the US last year, resulting in 23 laboratories being banned. However, the FCC noted that the vast majority of testing laboratories located in China are still testing electronic products for the US market.

The US Federal Communications Commission pointed out that about 75% of electronic products are tested in laboratories in China.
