New Taipei Election: Lee Shu-chuan Follows His Own Pace, Su Tseng-chang Appoints Three Spokespersons in Their 20s

Kuomintang (KMT) New Taipei City mayoral candidate Lee Shu-chuan attended the Buddha Bathing Festival celebration organized by the New Taipei City Buddhist Association this morning. Lee stated that the power of religious belief can move people's hearts and show care for the disadvantaged. He thanked various religious groups for their dedication and efforts to New Taipei City, making the city not only expand in scale but also become greater.

He subsequently visited the Ho Sheng Temple in Wugu to celebrate the birthday of the Xuan Tian Shang Di. Many worshippers shook hands and took photos with him. The temple specially thanked Lee for his past active assistance in legally establishing the Ho Sheng Temple, and Lee also exchanged views on municipal construction with several local borough wardens.

During a joint media interview, when asked about issues such as supporters allegedly being pressured to take down videos, Lee said that an election is a gentleman's competition. Naturally, everyone has their own supporters and friends, and people shouldn't make things difficult for each other's friends over an election. As for the "Blue-White alliance," he emphasized that he will proceed according to his own pace.

Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) New Taipei City mayoral candidate Su Tseng-chang and DPP legislator Wu Chi-ming also attended the Xuan Tian Shang Di birthday and 250th temple anniversary events at the Tsai-Shu Temple in Sanxia, praying with several DPP councilor candidates and local figures.

Su's office also announced a list of three spokespersons today. First is 29-year-old Liu Fang-yu, who previously participated in Tamsui's "Body Phase Studio" and Banqiao's "Mobius Strip Theatre." She will be responsible for hosting on-site events and online programs for the campaign team in the future.

Another spokesperson is 26-year-old Mahengheng Icyang, who served as an executive production assistant for Taiwan Indigenous Television. He will help the campaign team handle media relations and assist with news responses. Finally, there is 24-year-old Wu Szu-hsuan, who is not only "Sister Cloud Leopard" from Su's podcast channel "Otter Mother Chiao Chiao's Words," but will also use a local youth's perspective and simple, understandable language to bridge the gap between public affairs and the younger generation in the future.

Su Tseng-chang stated that these three spokespersons are all outstanding local youths from different professional fields who hold a high degree of passion and service spirit for public affairs. She believes that in the future, they will not only help the team dialogue with youth from all walks of life, but also maintain good interaction with the media and do a good job in providing services.
