A netizen posted a video on the social platform Threads today stating that while riding the Taipei Metro's Songshan-Xindian Line, they encountered a man constantly asking travelers for money, deeming it inappropriate and reporting it to station personnel.
The video has garnered numerous online responses, with many users stating that this man's persistent begging has become a norm, having encountered him on other MRT lines and even buses.
Taipei Metro stated that according to Article 50, Paragraph 1, Item 7 of the 'Mass Rapid Transit Act,' soliciting donations without permission inside the vehicles or station premises is punishable by a fine of NT$1500 to NT$7500.
