Veterans Affairs Council Promotes Digital Transformation for Veteran Care, Develops Smart Care Platform

The Legislative Yuan's Foreign Affairs and National Defense Committee will invite Yan De-fa, Chairman of the Veterans Affairs Council (VAC), to report on business operations tomorrow and be questioned; the VAC's written report has been sent to legislators' congressional research offices.

Regarding the establishment of military-civilian skill transfer, the VAC pointed out that to assist active-duty officers and soldiers in career planning and to smoothly transform military skills into civilian occupations after retirement, a professional team has been commissioned since last year to establish a military-civilian skill transfer comparison table. After 116 interviews with active-duty officers and soldiers and 53 expert verification meetings with industry, government, and academia, all 758 military-civilian occupational comparisons are expected to be completed by the end of April.

The VAC stated that after the platform is launched in January next year, it is expected to guide officers and soldiers to cultivate professional military skills while in service. After retirement, the VAC's various service offices will assist with AI-simulated interviews and resume generation, precise employment matching, and shortening the waiting period for employment, effectively extending the human resources of retired officers and soldiers to continue to play a role in the civilian workplace.

As for the development of a smart system platform, the VAC pointed out that in response to the arrival of a super-aged society, to provide good "lonely elderly" care services, the "Veteran Care Digital Transformation Platform" has been established to provide cross-domain co-management tools for medical, service, case, and family stakeholders. The use of real-time App systems will make participating collaborative caregivers more closely connected and care more transparent.

The VAC explained that this year is the first year of promoting the digital transformation of veteran care. It will continue to optimize the smart visitation and care platform, integrate data such as medical and health consultations, care services, and health examinations, build a health risk prediction model, and combine relevant data from the Ministry of Health and Welfare as an important basis for community veteran health management and policy promotion.

Regarding strengthening cooperation with international veteran organizations, the VAC stated that it will expand the cooperation network with important veteran groups in the United States and the Asia-Pacific region and related organizations in neighboring countries, build a stable and continuous exchange platform, deepen the layout of international veteran affairs exchanges, and interact and cooperate with foreign representative offices in Taiwan, international think tanks, and overseas Rongguang Associations to promote Taiwan's core values of respecting veterans and perfecting the care system, further enhancing Taiwan's visibility and influence in the field of international veteran affairs.

The VAC further pointed out that it will dispatch heads of Rongjia and Rongfu offices to visit, share and learn from the practical experience of friendly allies, so as to comprehensively improve the quality of services and care for veterans and their families. (Editor: Zhai Sijia) 1150408
