Presidential Envoy Lin Chia-lung Unveils Marshall Islands Athletics Track, Taiwanese Drones Celebrate

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced this morning that Lin Chia-lung, as a presidential envoy, was invited by the government of the Republic of the Marshall Islands, a Pacific ally, to lead a business and trade delegation on behalf of President Lai Ching-te from April 7th to 9th. The visit aims to promote the "Rongbang Project" between Taiwan and the Marshall Islands and deepen the friendly relations between the two countries. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained that during this trip, Lin Chia-lung and representatives of the industry delegation visited the Pacific International, Inc. terminal, the state-owned Tobular Oil Refinery, and islands around Majuro, the capital of the Marshall Islands, to explore potential investment opportunities in tourism, fisheries, and food processing. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs also stated that Lin Chia-lung presided over the unveiling ceremony of the Micronesian Games athletics track, which was built with government assistance. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs' "Drone Diplomacy Team" specially arranged for Taiwanese-made drones to scatter confetti in the air, symbolizing the commitment and determination of the two countries to further deepen their bilateral cooperative partnership. Lin Chia-lung stated that to demonstrate Taiwan's determination to cultivate economic and trade relations with allies through public-private cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs adopts a strategy of "leading with big, public-private cooperation, soft and hard approaches, and internal and external circulation" to encourage private enterprises to invest in diplomatic allies. In the future, Taiwan will also accelerate the promotion of the "Rongbang Project" under the concept of "comprehensive diplomacy" to facilitate the development of the Marshall Islands in healthcare, agriculture, education, sports, clean energy, and sustainable tourism, and continue to work with like-minded countries to maintain regional peace and stability and strengthen the Pacific's economic resilience. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out that during his visit, Lin Chia-lung paid courtesy calls to Marshall Islands President Hilda C. Heine, Parliament Speaker Brenson Wase, Iroijlaplap (Chief) Lanny Kabua, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Kalani Kaneko, Minister of Natural Resources and Commerce Anthony Muller, and other cabinet members and traditional leaders, and laid flowers at the mausoleum of the Marshall Islands' founding father and former President Amata Kabua.
