With a series of summer events kicking off, July in Atami offers a perfect opportunity to enjoy a summer trip at a leisurely pace, just before the intense heat and crowded vacation season. The serene South Atami area, in particular, is a hidden gem perfect for an "adult summer trip," welcoming families, solo travelers, and groups of friends.

In July, the city's beaches open, and both the sea and sky in Atami take on a full summer mode. From the 14th to the 16th, Kinomiya Shrine's grand festival, known as the "Kogashi Matsuri," will be held, immersing the entire town in a festive atmosphere. In addition to the year-round Atami Maritime Fireworks Festival, fireworks displays are also scheduled in the Izusan and Izumi districts, making it a season vibrant with summer events.

#### Three City Beaches to Open
The three beaches in Atami City (Atami Sun Beach, Nagahama Beach, and Ajiro Onsen Beach) will open on Saturday, July 11. They will remain open until Sunday, August 30.
- **Atami Sun Beach**: The popular floating athletic course, "Atami Sun Beach Water Park," returns this year (from July 18).
- **Nagahama Beach**: Popular with families, it features beach houses, a food court, and rest facilities. A "Fireworks Plaza" for hand-held fireworks will also be available daily.
- **Ajiro Onsen Beach**: A calm, shallow beach near the Ajiro fishing port. Visitors can enjoy nearby hot springs after a day at the sea.
