Brazil Wins Grand Prize at International Projection Mapping Competition in Tokyo; Ado's Music Performance Becomes a Hit

The 13th '1minute Projection Mapping Competition', Japan's first and the world's largest event of its kind, held its award ceremony on May 30 at the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. Receiving a record 412 entries from 65 countries, 18 finalists were screened, deciding five awards including the Grand Prize. Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike delivered a congratulatory speech. The Grand Prize went to Brazil's Signal Bleed. Holding their prize, they said, 'To the organizing team, it was a wonderful experience.' Organized by the Projection Mapping Association since 2012, this year it served as a main feature of 'TOKYO LIGHTS 2026'. Award winners: GRAND PRIZE: Signal Bleed (Brazil) 'Touch Talk'; SECOND PRIZE: VPM (Spain) 'Aporia'; THIRD PRIZE: Bigcool (Thailand) 'The Beauty of Collision'; Tokyo Tokyo Award: Anionavision (Romania) '1Pulse'; Audience Award: Taro Narahara (Japan) 'Infinite Dialogue'. The opening featured a 6-minute performance with a 3-song medley by star artist Ado, starting with 'Ai Ai A', moving to 'Odo' and 'Show'. Dynamic projection mapping and light performances by MPLUSPLUS DANCERS captivated over 2,000 attendees. The prize plates, fusing advanced processing with traditional Edo Kiriko crafts, were made by Muso Co. and Horiguchi Kiriko. General Producer Michiyuki Ishita leads the association as a renowned global spatial art creator.
