"Smiles Know No Borders": 100 Children Invited for Free to Experiential Education Event "OneDaySchool® Tokyo School 2026" on August 23rd, Bringing Together Multiple Generations and Cultures

OneDaySchool General Incorporated Association (Representative Director & 2026 Executive Committee Chair: Cecilia Xinghua Watanabe Asuka) will hold the experiential education event "OneDaySchool® Tokyo School 2026" on Sunday, August 23, 2026, at JICA Ichigaya Building's "JICA Global Plaza" in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo.

This event plans to invite approximately 80 children from 3rd grade elementary to 3rd grade junior high school, and about 20 high school and university student volunteers, free of charge, for a total scale of about 150 people including instructors and operational staff.

Under the theme of "Food, Sound, Learning, Play," it will open as a one-day school where participants of multiple generations and cultures learn and grow together, experiencing "co-education."

Background of the Event

"Smiles know no borders."

OneDaySchool® is an experiential education project born from this motto.

With the advancement of AI and rapid changes in the social environment, it is said that in the coming era, not only the "ability to memorize correct answers" but also the "ability to think for oneself," the "ability to connect with others," and the "ability to take on challenges" will become even more important.

OneDaySchool® creates opportunities for diverse people to meet and learn from each other, transcending age, nationality, culture, and occupation.

We have held events in Yilan City, Taiwan; Hsinchu City, Taiwan; Nagato City, Yamaguchi Prefecture, and other locations, with over 800 children and local residents participating in total, and we continue to grow as an international exchange-oriented co-education project connecting Taiwan and Japan.

For this Tokyo event, we will leverage the diverse human resources and cultural resources unique to the international city of Tokyo to provide a learning environment where children can encounter new values and expand their own potential.

Program Content

OneDaySchool® Tokyo School 2026 will feature experiential classes that stimulate children's curiosity and creativity, with the theme of "Food, Sound, Learning, Play."

Making "Nerikiri" wagashi with a wagashi artisan.

Workshops to experience the appeal of foreign food culture and craftsmanship.

Protect yourself with martial arts.

Become a hero who saves lives with CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) experience.

Instructors will include professionals active in various fields such as chefs, doctors, architects, sleep environment instructors, artists, and educators.

We provide opportunities to broaden children's horizons through real-life experiences that cannot be obtained solely at school or home.

This event is open to a wide range of ages, from children to adults.

Participation is free for children.

After studying abroad in Japan, joined a Japanese trading company and is currently engaged in the environmental solutions business.

With the philosophy of "Smiles know no borders," she is active as a practitioner of "co-education" where children, youth, and adults learn and grow together.

Founded One Day School® in 2020, established One Day School General Incorporated Association in 2021, and assumed the position of Representative Director.

She plans and operates international exchange-oriented educational events and multi-generational exchange programs, primarily in Japan and Taiwan, with over 800 children participating to date.
