Kids Code Club (General Incorporated Association Kids Code Club, Location: Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Representative: Maiko Ishikawa) has begun recruiting participants for the 'Digital Exploration Program 2026,' which offers free PC loans and online digital skill education to economically disadvantaged elementary and junior high school students nationwide.

What is the Digital Exploration Program?

As society becomes increasingly digital, a new educational disparity is beginning to spread among children. While opportunities for digital skill learning are increasing—such as the provision of one-to-one computers in schools, mandatory programming education in elementary and junior high schools, and its introduction into university entrance exams—there are children who cannot access these opportunities due to economic reasons, family circumstances, or individual characteristics.

Since computers lent by schools cannot be freely used for purposes outside of school, whether a child has a computer at home and a safe environment to learn in creates a significant difference in their acquisition of digital skills. This disparity also affects future income and freedom of career choice.

Therefore, Kids Code Club launched the 'Digital Exploration Program' in 2022, which provides a free set of a computer, mobile Wi-Fi, and online learning support, allowing children to freely learn programming and digital skills regardless of their home environment. So far, 107 children have participated, and we are now recruiting new members for the 6th generation.

What you can do with the Digital Exploration Program:

① You can rent a computer for free

We lend out laptops, mice, and headsets with device settings for safe use, free of charge. These can be used without restriction not only for this program but also for various IT learning and experiences such as web services, apps, and online events. They can be used by both children and their guardians.

② You can learn programming and digital creation for free

You can participate for free in the online 'After-school Programming Club,' where you can learn various digital creations such as programming, design, music, Minecraft, and Roblox Studio. Instead of teachers unilaterally instructing as in school, activities involve learning at one's own pace using teaching materials, or learning collaboratively with other children.

We also offer one-on-one or small-group lessons and workshops for beginners.

Our goal is not only to impart essential IT skills for the coming era but also to foster proactive learning abilities and confidence through engaging in digital activities they enjoy, interacting with others.

③ You can participate in digital literacy and IT career courses

You can participate in courses to promote safer and more secure digital usage, such as security, privacy, online communication, and media literacy. You can also join IT career education, where you can hear inspiring stories about future careers from adult instructors active in the IT and creative industries.

④ You can receive individual feedback support in self-study courses

You can choose your favorite creative course from various options such as Minecraft, Scratch certification, Roblox programming, 3D design, music, and video creation, and work on it at your own pace. When you have questions, staff will answer them, provide comments on your work, and offer individual support for your child's learning.

⑤ You can receive free support for computer operation and troubleshooting

To ensure that even families new to computers can use them with peace of mind, we provide three initial orientations. We also offer regular online consultations, LINE support for troubleshooting, and remote control assistance to support your child's safe and comfortable computer use.
