Our association endorses April Dream, an initiative to make April 1st a day for announcing dreams. This press release represents the dream of the "Japan LGBT Support Association."

Rainbow and April Dream

The Japan LGBT Support Association (Representative Director: Hisayo Matsumura) is participating in April Dream on April 1st to announce our dream.

Our dream is to realize a society where more happy and diverse families are born through the association's matchmaking, where more matchmakers connect these happy families, and where someday everyone can proudly walk the Rainbow Parade together.

The Japan LGBT Support Association has been continuously working to connect people, supporting LGBTQ+ individuals in their love, marriage, partnerships, and family building.

What we want to connect is not just a mere "encounter." It is the irreplaceable journey of life itself, where the wish to share life with someone comes true, a safe place is created, two people envision a future, and eventually become a family.

To love someone.

To wish to live with a loved one.

To desire to become a family.

These are inherently natural and precious desires for everyone.

However, in reality, many people are still unable to openly express their feelings or relationships to those around them, and cannot proudly display their happiness.

Even if they have someone they love, or a partner they have pledged their future to, some live with their happiness hidden in their hearts due to concerns about societal understanding and their environment.

We have an unforgettable sight.

There have been many times when happy couples, who met through the association's matchmaking, quietly watched our matchmakers walk in the Rainbow Parade from a distance.

And sometimes, they would quietly come to greet us, mindful of others' eyes.

But those individuals had not yet come out, and could not proudly walk with us.

We also heard that they truly wanted to laugh and wave with us, but couldn't at that moment, and this reality has repeatedly pained us.

That is why we dream.

A society where couples and families born from the association's matchmaking no longer need to hide.

A society where people can naturally say "Congratulations" and don't have to diminish their happiness.

And a future where they can proudly walk the Rainbow Parade together with the matchmakers who wished for, supported, and connected their happiness.

What we wish for is not just to walk in the parade.

It is for societal understanding to advance to the point where such a sight is not special but commonplace, and for forms of love and family to be respected more freely and naturally.

That is the true dream of the Japan LGBT Support Association.

The Japan LGBT Support Association will continue to connect happy relationships for LGBTQ+ individuals, and while supporting their lives and family forms, we will strive to create a "society where everyone can build a happy family."

【Comment from the Representative Director】

I have connected many relationships and encountered countless desires to "be happy."

I sincerely believe that these desires, no matter whose they are, are equally precious and deserve to be celebrated.

It is our greatest joy when happy couples are born through the association's matchmaking, leading to an increase in diverse families.

However, we also know the reality that some people, because they have not come out, can only quietly watch the Rainbow Parade from afar.

I sincerely wish for the day when those individuals can walk proudly with their loved ones, without hiding or holding back.

And I want to realize a future where we can all walk the Rainbow Parade together with smiles, including the matchmakers who connected their happiness. That is the dream of the Japan LGBT Support Association.

We will continue to walk towards a society where everyone can choose and nurture their own forms of love and family, while staying close to each individual's feelings.
