Japanese Players Excel Globally! Footgolf World Championship 2026 Acapulco Concludes

The Japan Footgolf Association has announced the conclusion of all competition days for the Japanese national team sent to the FIFG Footgolf World Championship 2026 in Acapulco, Mexico, held from May 27th to June 7th.

At this tournament, the Japanese representatives achieved significant results, including 3rd place in the women's team event and top-10 finishes for both men and women in the individual competitions.

■ Women's Team 3rd Place
The team defeated Turkey 3-0 in the 3rd-place match to take the podium. In an environment where the level of international competition is rapidly improving, the Japanese women's team proved their depth and high competitive level.

■ Men's and Senior Teams
The men's national team finished 13th, and the senior national team finished 15th. Both teams ended their tournament run with victories in their respective ranking matches.

■ Individual Competitions: Historic Success
- Rina Akutsu (Women's Individual 3rd Place): Equaled the highest record for a Japanese player in World Championship history.
- Ryuga Takada (Men's Individual 8th Place Tie): Set a new all-time high ranking for a Japanese male player in the World Championship.
