Popular Hands-on Design Course to be Held Again This Year. Learn "Communicative" Design with Tomoko Degai, Official Canva Creator Based in Aomori Prefecture.

The Towada-Oirase Tourism Organization (TOWADA TRAVEL) will hold the "Seriously Communicative! Flyer & SNS Design Course - Intermediate Level" on Friday, July 31, 2026, and Friday, August 7, 2026. The aim is to improve the communication skills of local businesses so they can promote the appeal of their activities and services themselves. This course is an enhanced version of the hands-on seminar held last year, which was so popular that it reached its capacity shortly after applications opened. Participants will practically learn Canva operation techniques for intermediate users, how to organize information according to objectives, and flyer creation, all while utilizing the graphic design tool "Canva."

In recent years, businesses have had more opportunities to disseminate information themselves, expanding the media and content they handle, from in-store displays to social media. However, as opportunities to communicate increase, the ability to organize "what" to convey, "to whom," and "how," and to structure information according to objectives becomes increasingly important. This course will focus not only on Canva operations but also on information design to organize the content to be conveyed and shape it into a form that reaches the audience.

Returning as the instructor for the second year is Tomoko Degai, an Official Canva Creator based in Hashe-cho, Aomori Prefecture. In addition to her work as a designer, Ms. Degai also runs a hamburger shop with her husband in the same town, giving her a real-world understanding of operating a local business. Based on Ms. Degai's experience, this course will provide professional and practical insights to make daily communications "more communicative."
