Miraisaka, the izakaya brand operated by Watami Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Ota-ku, Tokyo; hereinafter 'Watami'), will begin selling its summer special menu at all 87 locations nationwide starting Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
Sales Period: July 15 (Wed) – September 8 (Tue)
Amid ongoing extreme summer heat, Miraisaka has introduced 13 new 'stamina izakaya dishes' featuring seasonal summer ingredients and spicy flavors. The lineup includes fresh eel and bitter melon, as well as mala tang—a recent culinary trend—making it perfect for the hot season.
Summer’s Classic Stamina Ingredient: Eel
This year’s Day of the Ox (Doyo no Ushi no Hi) falls on Sunday, July 26. Ahead of this, Miraisaka offers three eel-based dishes, beloved as summer stamina food. Enjoy the classic unagi kabayaki in a convenient skewer form with the 'Grilled Eel Skewer' (399 JPY, 438 JPY tax-in). The 'Uzaku' (399 JPY, 438 JPY tax-in) features tender eel with a mild sweet-and-sour sauce that boosts appetite. For a luxurious twist, try the 'Unagi Toro Don Sushi' (699 JPY, 768 JPY tax-in), a sushi roll topped with grated yam and premium eel. Pair your eel dish with the 'AKAYANE Craft Spirits Sansho Highball' (499 JPY, 548 JPY tax-in), where the sharpness of sweet potato shochu blends perfectly with sansho pepper aroma.

AKAYANE is a spirit distilled at a distillery in Minamikyushu City, Kagoshima Prefecture.
Summer’s Seasonal Vegetables That Go Perfectly with Alcohol
Featuring bitter melon, a quintessential summer vegetable, Miraisaka offers the sizzling 'Bitter Melon Champuru' (599 JPY, 658 JPY tax-in) served on a hot iron plate, and the crispy 'Bitter Melon Crispy Fry' (299 JPY, 328 JPY tax-in), offering a delightful contrast of slight bitterness and crunchy texture. Bitter melon’s flavor pairs exceptionally well with oil through frying or sautéing, making it an ideal izakaya dish to enjoy with alcohol.
For hot dishes like Bitter Melon Champuru and the crispy fries, we recommend the 'Hakuro Natsuzake Junmai Namazukuri Sake'—499 JPY per glass (548 JPY tax-in), 1,900 JPY per bottle (2,090 JPY tax-in). This unpasteurized sake is freshly pressed, offering a vibrant taste and refreshing aroma.

Spicy Noodles Trend Now at Miraisaka
Miraisaka introduces the 'Hearty Mala Tang Vermicelli' (599 JPY, 658 JPY tax-in), adapting the popular mala soup—trendy at specialty restaurants—into an izakaya-style dish. While it features aromatic spices like Sichuan pepper and chili, the spiciness is mild, making it enjoyable even for those who are sensitive to heat. The dish uses wide, chewy cellophane noodles and is packed with cabbage, napa cabbage, garlic chives, bean sprouts, shiitake, enoki mushrooms, and a whole large dumpling—making it a vegetable-rich dish perfect as a drinking companion.
Additionally, Miraisaka offers the 'Spicy Mixing Topping' (299 JPY, 328 JPY tax-in) to enhance the already popular 'Extra-Rich Niboshi Ramen' (599 JPY, 658 JPY tax-in). The 'Ae-dama' style—mixing seasoned extra noodles directly into the ramen—is a recent trend. Enjoy it on its own as a standalone dish, or add it to the ramen to blend the umami of niboshi with a pleasant kick of spice, creating a satisfying finisher bowl.

Upgraded Signature and Unchanged Classic
Alongside the summer special menu, don’t miss Miraisaka’s signature dish, the 'Seiryu Wakadori Thigh Globe Fry,' which was upgraded in June 2026. Since June, all stores receive 'Seiryu Wakadori,' a premium domestic chicken brand, fresh (not frozen), and prepare it in-store with cutting and seasoning. This enhances the chicken’s natural juiciness and flavor, elevating the dish to a new level.
Seiryu Wakadori Thigh Globe Fry: 999 JPY (1,098 JPY tax-in)
Additionally, Miraisaka continues to serve highballs at 199 JPY per glass (218 JPY tax-in)—a price unchanged since the brand’s opening. Enjoy both the evolving signature dish and the long-standing affordable drink alongside the limited-time summer menu.
