On Thursday, June 11, 2026, Cartier will open the "Cartier Nagoya Sakae Boutique" at The Landmark Nagoya Sakae HAERA.
Opening as a flagship store following Tokyo and Osaka, this boutique will add a new brilliance to the city of Nagoya, where Eastern and Western cultures intersect and have fostered a uniquely rich culture, writing a new page in Cartier's history in Japan. As a Cartier boutique that reflects the individuality of locations around the world and embodies the style and spirit of the Maison, this boutique was designed under the concept of "Moineau Beteille," which has designed Cartier boutiques worldwide, including on Rue de la Paix in Paris. The Barcelona-based "g4 group" was in charge of the design, and works by international artists, including Japanese artists, are placed throughout, creating a comfortable space where Cartier's exceptional savoir-faire and internationally rich sensibilities resonate.
[Facade]
The facade, colored in champagne tones and adorned with curves and light, gently blends into the cityscape where tradition and modernity breathe. Through the glass of the facade, panels and curtains weave a sense of splendor. The panel-like work, which expands the possibilities of aluminum as a material, was created by Japanese sculptor Yoshiya Hongo, revealing different expressions in response to our movements amidst the changing light and seasons. The curtains feature textiles by French textile artist Pietro Seminelli, who holds the title of Maître d'Art (French Living Treasure). His textiles, known as the "architect of pleats," adorn not only the facade but the entire Nagoya Sakae boutique.
[Interior]
Beyond the open entrance lies a bright, sophisticated two-floor space filled with natural light. The art wall at the front of the first floor was created by French artist Cédric Pelletier. The Maison's emblem, the panther, is depicted with dignity and grace as if overlooking the Nagoya cityscape, adding vibrancy to the boutique. This floor features a wide range of collections, including Cartier's iconic jewelry, watches, leather goods, accessories, and fragrances, and also includes a salon space befitting the Maison's name, offering each customer a unique and unforgettable moment.
Upstairs on the second floor, art by washi paper artist Eriko Horiki harmonizes with the space while making a powerful presence. In a 13-meter-long work applied to the wall, bamboo is expressed through the different brilliance of washi paper, gold leaf, and mica, creating a delicate gradation of light. Additionally, works by Atelier Midavaine, a lacquer workshop in its third generation in Paris, fuse French and Japanese traditional crafts as a tribute to the savoir-faire cultivated by the Maison, themed around flora and fauna that inspire Cartier's creations. On this floor, customers can leisurely view timeless diamond creations, bridal collections, watches, and men's collections, and a service counter is also available to provide prompt and courteous after-sales service for cherished Cartier products. Four private spaces are also provided for a comfortable time in a personal atmosphere.
Please enjoy the world of Cartier at this boutique, where the dignified atmosphere of the historic Maison blends with warmth.
