The awards are organized by Drug Magazine Co., Ltd. and the Yachiyo-kai, an association of healthcare wholesalers, and supported by the Japan Chain Drugstore Association. Winners are determined by votes from healthcare wholesalers and leading pharmacies and drugstores nationwide, focusing on products launched or renewed during the year. "Watashi no Aojiru Prebiotics" was developed based on the concept of "nurturing and increasing gut bacteria" such as bifidobacteria. Ingredients that serve as nutritional sources for beneficial gut bacteria and promote their growth are called "prebiotics." This product contains two prebiotic ingredients: "galacto-oligosaccharides" and "water-soluble dietary fiber," which serve as food for bifidobacteria. The product is sold at drugstores nationwide for 2,160 yen (including tax).
