Pocket Card Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Haruo Takagaki; hereinafter "Pocket Card") announces that it has acquired all shares of MTK Debt Collection Management Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Akira Sudo; hereinafter "MTK"), which operates a servicer business (*), and made it a subsidiary on April 30, 2026.
*A debt collection company (servicer) is a private company specializing in the management and collection of specific monetary claims, having obtained permission from the Minister of Justice (a regulated industry that requires meeting criteria such as capital of 500 million yen or more and having a lawyer among its directors).
**Purpose of the Subsidiary Acquisition**
**・Regarding the promotion of productivity improvement and low-cost operations**
Pocket Card will achieve a reduction in administrative costs and outsourcing fees by internalizing debt management-related operations, which were previously dependent on MTK and external contractors, within the group. This will enable the company to build an efficient and flexible operational system and further improve productivity.
**・Towards the establishment of new revenue sources**
By possessing MTK's "servicer (debt collection company)" function, which is authorized by the Ministry of Justice, Pocket Card will expand into new business areas such as the acquisition and entrusted collection of external debts, in addition to its own claims. This will promote business diversification and further strengthen its revenue base.
**Company Overview**
Moving forward, Pocket Card, as a member of the Itochu Group, will continue to promote a unified card strategy with a mid-to-long-term vision of "leading next-generation financial services," aiming for further advancement of its cashless foundation.
