Pets First Group to Host “Interaction” Pet Adoption Event on July 20, 2026 (Mon, Holiday) at Pet Care & Adoption Center Nikko

Pets First Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Meguro-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Haruhiko Sakamoto; hereinafter "our Group"), which operates under the philosophy of "Pets always come first," will host an adoption event themed around "interaction" on July 20, 2026 (Mon, Holiday) at Pet Care & Adoption Center Nikko, a pet care facility operated by our Group.

Pets First Group's Pet Adoption Support Activities

Guided by our management philosophy, "Pets always come first," Pets First Group takes full responsibility for every pet we handle throughout their lives.

For pets that develop health conditions prior to sale, we provide treatment until they fully recover or reach a stable condition manageable with ongoing care, then place them with adoptive families who fully understand their medical needs. We also offer intermediary services for customers who, due to unavoidable circumstances, can no longer continue pet ownership. Additionally, since 2013, as part of our CSR initiative "Pets always come first Project," we have continuously supported the adoption of dogs and cats rescued from animal shelters and animal protection centers.

Until they find adoptive families, these pets receive loving daily care from dedicated staff at Pet Care & Adoption Center Nikko.

To help these pets find families who understand their needs and are ready to offer lifelong love and care, we regularly host adoption events.

Details of the July 20 (Mon, Holiday) “Interaction” Adoption Event

The upcoming adoption event will focus on "interaction," aiming to let visitors experience the joy and warmth of living with pets through direct engagement with animals residing at our facility.

On the day, our care staff and veterinarians will provide detailed, individual explanations about each pet’s personality and health status.

Among the pets at our facility awaiting families, some face health challenges. Often, when people hear a pet’s diagnosis, they perceive the condition as more serious than it truly is, which delays adoption. However, with proper care and medication, many of these pets can live healthy, joyful lives just like any other.

At our adoption events, veterinarians and care staff provide direct explanations about each pet’s condition and care requirements, offering visitors the chance to realize that these pets can live much more actively and happily than expected.

We also have pets who may appear healthy but face serious conditions—these are the very animals we hope will find compassionate families willing to welcome them into their homes.

Pet Care & Adoption Center Nikko is a pet care facility operated by the Pets First Group.

Opened in Nikko City, Tochigi Prefecture in 2007, it is a comprehensive pet care facility dedicated to ensuring every pet—regardless of their circumstances—can enjoy a happy life. The center offers paid adoption intermediary services and lifelong care support. Past Adoption Events

Since 2023, we have hosted adoption events at Pet Care & Adoption Center Nikko, and, starting in February 2026, outreach adoption events at NICO PET—a comprehensive pet specialty store operated by Arclands Co., Ltd.—within Tochigi Prefecture. To date, these events have helped over 30 pets find new families.
