Pets First Group Monthly Pet Report February 2026

Pets First Holdings Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Meguro-ku, Tokyo, Representative Director: Haruhiko Sakamoto), which upholds the philosophy of “Pets always come first,” will report on the key indicators of the distribution process for its directly managed stores of the pet shop 'Pʼs-first' for February 2026.

[Regarding Transactions with Contract Breeders]

At P’s-first directly managed stores, we conduct direct transactions with pets from trusted contract breeders nationwide, without going through third parties such as auctions. From February 1 to February 28, 2026, the number of pets handled by Pets First Group, meaning those received from contract breeders, was 1,578. Of these, dogs accounted for 75.3% and cats for 24.7%. In addition, we transacted with 249 contract breeders for the pets received in February.

Furthermore, to protect the physical and mental health of pets and as a measure against the issue of age misrepresentation in the pet industry, we announced in our April 2024 newsletter that we would gradually raise the age at which pets are traded in P's-first directly managed stores from the legally mandated minimum of 57 days old to 60 days old. *1

In February, the proportion of pets aged 60 days or older was 100%, meaning all pets transacted with contract breeders were 60 days or older.

[Regarding Pet Sales at Shops]

In February, the number of pets sold at Pʼs-first directly managed stores was 1,688. Of these, dogs accounted for 76.9% and cats for 23.1%. The average age at the time of sale was 103 days old, and the average period from being housed in the store until being adopted by a customer was 41 days.

Furthermore, to prevent impulse purchases of pets and to promote responsible lifelong ownership, we not only thoroughly explain things when interacting with customers daily but also request all customers adopting a pet from P's-first directly managed stores to attend a 'Pet Adoption Seminar.' *2 In February, 1,...
