30 Years Since 'Shogen': LAMP EYE Releases New Song 'UpHillBattle' and Hosts 'Nettaiurin' Event at CLUB CITTA Kawasaki

In the 90s, the underground hip-hop scene in Tokyo was shaken by the appearance of the legendary group LAMP EYE. Now, 30 years after their milestone track 'Shogen', the group is stirring once again.

RINO LATINA II and DJ YAS have reunited under the production of DJ YAS to release a new single, 'UpHillBattle'. The heavy sound, etching unfading passion and reality, is resurrected for the modern era, transcending generations from old heads to new heads.

In conjunction with the release, a special event titled 'Nettaiurin' (Tropical Rainforest) will be held at the sacred hip-hop venue, CLUB CITTA Kawasaki, on Saturday, August 8, 2026. The lineup features iconic artists who have supported the scene since its inception: LAMP EYE, King Giddra, and RHYMESTER. This reunion of pioneers aims to recreate the unique heat and excitement of the early days for today's audience.

Official pre-sale tickets will be available via eplus from May 16 (Sat) to June 21 (Sun), 2026. As a symbolic project of the legendary label 'FUTURE SHOCK', which nurtured top artists like ZEEBRA and Hannya, this comeback marks a new chapter looking toward the entirety of Asia while preserving the core spirit of Japanese hip-hop.
