SINGAPORE, May 19, 2026 – Visa, a global leader in digital payments, announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Trip.com Group to provide consumers in the Asia-Pacific region with enriched travel experiences. This agreement leverages Visa's global payment network and Trip.com Group's extensive ecosystem to enable travelers to discover personalized recommendations, access exclusive rewards, and enjoy seamless payments during their trips.
Trip.com Group will also become a global anchor partner for "Visa Destinations," a global experience-driven program. This program provides cardholders with curated travel experiences based on local insights and culture, allowing travelers to plan journeys around what matters most to them.
As an anchor partner, Trip.com Group will integrate Visa Destinations into its own ecosystem to create enhanced value propositions and offer personalized benefits across a wide range of consumer segments. The two companies will also conduct joint marketing and promotional activities in specific markets to help more people discover dream destinations and experiences worldwide.
Furthermore, Visa and Trip.com Group will explore deeper collaboration for high-growth segments in Asia-Pacific. This includes new mechanisms for Trip.com users to access Visa's premium benefits (including global partnerships in sports, music, and lifestyle) and providing Visa Infinite cardholders with exclusive rewards from Trip.com Group. Both parties will work closely to stimulate cross-border travel demand.
This collaboration aligns with the evolving travel landscape in Asia-Pacific, characterized by robust demand and a digital-first approach.
According to Visa’s "Global Travel Intentions (GTI) 2026" study: - Approximately 72% of respondents plan to travel within Asia in the coming months, with 1 in 4 planning a trip to Japan. - Digital payments are second nature for APAC travelers, with 73% carrying a credit card or mobile wallet while traveling. - 92% use online resources for travel planning, and 49% utilize AI tools for destination discovery.
