<Origin of the Victor Mark – About Nipper>

The original painting of the Victor Mark was created in 1889 by British artist Francis Barraud. His brother, Mark H. Barraud, cherished a highly intelligent Fox Terrier named 'Nipper.' After Mark's passing, Francis took in both Nipper and his nephew and raised them together. One day, when playing a recording of his late brother's voice on a phonograph at home, Nipper curiously tilted his head, listening intently to the familiar voice of his beloved master. Deeply moved by this touching scene, Francis immediately picked up his brush and painted the iconic image. The phonograph in the original painting was a cylinder-type capable of recording and playback, but it was later changed to a disc-type. The painting was titled 'His Master's Voice.'

The poignant image of Nipper nostalgically listening to his late master's voice deeply moved Emile Berliner, the inventor of the disc phonograph, who registered the painting as a trademark in 1900. Since then, this prestigious mark has been widely trusted and cherished as a symbol of superior technology and quality.
