Today, BOSS announced a groundbreaking partnership to become the Official Lifestyle Outfitter of the Australian Open starting in 2027, marking the beginning of a new era in sports and culture. From the first serve of a match to championship point, BOSS will blend sharp tailoring, sports-inspired looks, and striking hospitality experiences to propose a sophisticated style both on and off the court, asserting its unique presence on one of the world's most prestigious sporting stages.
This partnership is based on the shared values of high aspirations, world-class performance, global presence, and bold confidence common to both BOSS and the Australian Open. This collaboration will serve as the core of BOSS's cultural strategy, acting as a powerful platform to connect widely with fans around the world, cultivate new audiences, and fully broadcast the worldview of BOSS through collections, ambassadors, and various experiences.
"We are absolutely thrilled to partner with the Australian Open, one of the most dynamic and globally engaging sporting events in the world," says Daniel Grieder, CEO of HUGO BOSS. "This collaboration naturally brought together two brands that share a common vision for excellence, innovation, and creating extraordinary experiences. Tennis is a part of the BOSS DNA, and this partnership marks a significant step in our strategy to further accelerate our brand positioning at the intersection of sports, lifestyle, and global fan engagement."
"The Australian Open is an event that is always about more than just great tennis. Its essence lies in the unique atmosphere of the tournament, innovation, and setting new standards in major global sporting events," says Craig Tiley, CEO of Tennis Australia. "BOSS is a global brand with an outstanding track record in both sports and style, and through this partnership, we will further elevate the look, experience, and connection of our tournament with fans around the world."
In taking on the new role as the Official Lifestyle Outfitter of the tournament, BOSS will revamp the visual identity of the Australian Open in unprecedented ways. By styling up to 4,000 people including staff, tournament officials, umpires, and ball kids, BOSS will strike a recognizable presence from the start of the tournament, projecting the confident style that symbolizes the brand. As a result, bold changes will occur. A unified, sophisticated, and modern aesthetic across the entire tournament will adorn every part of the venue, Melbourne Park. Carefully selected colors, subtle homages to tailoring techniques, and comfortable, climate-conscious silhouettes will merge to herald a new era in the tournament's style. These are styles perfectly in tune with the fast-paced and energetic spirit of the event.
Within the venue, BOSS brand visuals will be deployed in various locations including the iconic Rod Laver Arena. Furthermore, this collaboration extends beyond the courts of the tournament into limited edition replicas of team wear, products, and off-court capsule collections. Through dedicated pop-up stores, immersive fan activations at the venue, premium guest experiences, and various special events, the signature BOSS attitude will be infused into every aspect of this tournament known as 'The Happy Slam'. Online and in-store, impressive storytelling and curation measures will broadcast the sun-drenched charm of Melbourne to tennis fans worldwide.
To raise expectations for the upcoming initiatives and set the tone as a 'powerful opening serve', BOSS has created bold visuals to coincide with today's announcement. Bridging the two worlds of fashion and sports, these visuals reinterpret the tennis ball through a variety of tactile fabrics, from fine wool to soft alpaca, paying homage to BOSS's roots in craftsmanship and tailoring.
