自令和3年起，日本運動廳為表彰積極運用運動推動「地方創生與城鎮建設」的地方政府創新構想，並向全國推廣優良案例，設立了「運動與健康城鎮建設」優良地方政府表揚制度（簡稱「スポまち！表揚」），至今已累計表彰114個地方政府。
本年度將繼續舉辦「スポまち！表揚2026」，現正公開徵求地方政府的相關計畫提案。
獲獎地方政府將於預定於11月17日（星期二）舉行的頒獎典禮上，由日本運動廳頒發表彰狀。
日本運動廳將致力於支持獲獎單位確實執行其計畫，並促成地方活化與發展。

應徵資格
正積極推動以運動為核心的「城鎮建設」，且具備可確保長期持續推動之體制之地方政府。
※允許多個地方公共團體共同聯名申請。
※曾獲獎之地方政府，若提出與過往獲獎內容不同的新計畫，亦可於本年度再次申請。
