Armani/Casa will present a spatial installation titled 'ARMANI/CASA Exhibition - Quiet Elegance Drawn by Light and Space' at MMoP (Miyota Museum of Photography) in Miyota Town, Nagano Prefecture, from Saturday, April 25th to Wednesday, May 6th. The philosophy embodied by Giorgio Armani—that 'elegance is not about being noticed, it is about being remembered'—extends beyond fashion into architectural spaces, continuing today as a dialogue between light, shadow, negative space, and structure. Armani/Casa was born in 2000 as a home collection reflecting the aesthetics of designer Giorgio Armani. The philosophy cultivated in fashion—a sense of proportion, restrained beauty, and deep insight into materials—is consistently reflected in furniture, lighting, and textiles. Structure over decoration, negative space over assertion. This is the space Armani/Casa aims for. It values not just creating a room, but the time that flows within it and a sophisticated sensibility. The core of this installation is the 'Logo Lamp,' a table lamp designed by Giorgio Armani himself in 1982. Created to softly illuminate the hands while working on design sketches, this lamp possesses a unique form that directs light precisely without obstructing the view. It encapsulates Armani's philosophy of combining functionality and beauty and remains a beloved icon that most purely reflects the aesthetics of Armani/Casa. This exhibition also introduces an archive selection of photos tracing the residences of Giorgio Armani located in Milan, Paris, Pantelleria, Forte dei Marmi, St. Moritz, and Saint-Tropez. Common to these spaces are tranquility and the tension created by light and structure. Furniture is placed, light pours in, and time accumulates. Through these photos, we quietly trace how Armani's aesthetics have come to fruition from thought to space. This is the first attempt in the world to gather such an archive of residence photos in one installation. Furniture tells of structure, and photos tell of time. It is an installation where you can experience the world of Armani, as the Logo Lamp placed at the center of the exhibition resonates with the natural light of MMoP. MMoP is a complex facility centered on a photography museum located in Miyota Town, adjacent to Karuizawa. Please enjoy a moment of immersion in the brand's world in this serene space that resonates with the philosophy of Armani/Casa, which values light and structure, away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
