Quantum Solutions Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Baika Osawa; TSE Code: 2338; hereinafter "Quantum Solutions" or "the Company"), listed on the Standard Market of the Tokyo Stock Exchange, has reached a basic agreement with Telstra Japan K.K. regarding the securing of high-density data center capacity in Japan to promote its AI Data Center (AIDC) business in Japan. The Company has resolved to pay a deposit to preferentially secure approximately 3MW of data center capacity and related power capacity.
Quantum Solutions is currently engaged in the Japan AIDC business, centered around Blackwell-generation GPUs, particularly the B300 series. The Company believes that demand for high-performance GPU computing infrastructure in the Japanese and Asian markets will continue to expand due to the ongoing growth in generative AI, large language models, AI agents, and enterprise AI inference needs.
Among these, data center capacity capable of accommodating the introduction of high-power-consumption, high-density GPU servers, and stable power capacity are among the most critical and scarce core resources for building AI infrastructure.
The data center capacity that the Company will preferentially secure in this matter is planned to be approximately 3MW in scale for the first phase. Based on calculations derived from the power configuration of the Blackwell-generation GPU servers currently envisioned, this capacity is expected to support the introduction of approximately 192 Blackwell-generation GPU servers (B300 class). The actual number of units that can be introduced will be determined based on the final server configuration, PUE design, power supply method, cooling conditions, and customer demand.
The counterparty in this matter is Telstra Japan K.K. Telstra Japan K.K. is the Japanese operating entity of Telstra Group, an Australian telecommunications and information services company, primarily providing network connectivity, digital infrastructure, and related technology solutions to corporate customers. Telstra International has had a business foundation in the Asia-Pacific region for many years and supports the international connectivity needs of corporate customers through its global network resources.
This matter will proceed as a direct transaction between Quantum Solutions and Telstra Japan K.K. The Company group will leverage the data center capacity secured in this matter to promote the provision of AI computing resources, GPU server operations, GPU cloud services, and enterprise AI infrastructure business.
Of the total approximately 3MW of data center capacity planned for use in this matter, approximately 2MW is expected to be data center capacity that Telstra Japan K.K. will secure from Equinix, Inc. or its group companies (hereinafter "Equinix"), and the Company plans to utilize these resources through Telstra Japan K.K.
Equinix is a leading digital infrastructure and data center provider globally, operating multiple data centers in major metropolitan areas in Japan such as Tokyo and Osaka. According to public information, Equinix connects over 10,000 customers and partners worldwide, serving a wide range of customers including cloud, network, finance, internet, content delivery, SaaS, and large enterprises.
Equinix's data centers in Japan are equipped with high power density, low-latency connectivity, connectivity to major clouds and networks, and reliable infrastructure for enterprises, making them a crucial foundation for global companies deploying cloud, network, and critical digital infrastructure in Japan.
Furthermore, Telstra Group and Equinix have a long-term collaborative relationship globally. According to public information, the two companies have collaborated in areas such as cloud connectivity, enterprise digital transformation, software-defined networking, and the interconnection of global digital infrastructure since 2015, providing end-to-end connectivity and hybrid cloud infrastructure solutions to corporate customers.
Quantum Solutions believes that by preferentially securing the relevant data center capacity through Telstra Japan K.K., and particularly by utilizing capacity based on Equinix's high-quality data center infrastructure, it can quickly secure access to the scarce high-density data center capacity and power capacity in the Japanese market. This is expected to shorten the launch period for the AIDC business and increase the certainty of future Blackwell-generation GPU cluster deployment, commencement of services for customers, and commercial operations.
Based on the basic terms of this matter, the Company plans to pay a deposit to preferentially secure the relevant data center capacity and power capacity in accordance with the quotation-style document presented by Telstra Japan K.K. The total planned payment amount for this deposit is approximately USD 2,202,864, and payment is scheduled to be completed by July 10, 2026.
The Company views the securing of data center capacity in this matter as a significant phased advancement in promoting the Japan AIDC business. By preferentially securing high-density data center capacity and power capacity, we will further strengthen the infrastructure resource base for the AIDC project and establish a foundation for future Blackwell-generation GPU server deployment, AI computing platform construction, GPU cloud services, and the expansion of enterprise AI infrastructure business. We will also actively pursue commercial discussions with potential customers and strategic partners.
Going forward, Quantum Solutions will continue to promote the securing of data center resources, GPU equipment deployment, customer acquisition, financial planning, and the establishment of strategic partnerships, taking into account the demand in the AI infrastructure market in Japan and Asia. The Company positions the AIDC business as an important strategic area and will continuously pursue business opportunities such as GPU cloud services, AI infrastructure operation, enterprise AI computing support, and related technology services.
