Taste Whisky Directly from the Cask! Gaiaflow Shizuoka Distillery Launches 'Tasting from the Cask Tour'

Gaiaflow Shizuoka Distillery (Headquarters: Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture; Representative Director: Hirokazu Nakamura) is launching a premium tasting tour, 'Tasting from the Cask Tour,' where visitors can taste whisky directly from special casks resting in the warehouse and bottle it themselves to take home. In this tour, after a comprehensive tour of the whisky production process, visitors can taste rare 'cask strength' whisky freshly drawn from two carefully selected casks in the warehouse. Surrounded by the rich nature of Oku-Shizu, the program begins with a guided tour of the whisky-making site. After experiencing the distillery's commitment to nature, using plenty of local wood, guests are guided to the warehouse as the highlight of the tour. In the warehouse, staff draw whisky directly from two selected casks that are ready to drink. Guests can taste two cups (10ml each) of 'cask strength' whisky, which has not been filtered or diluted, exactly as it is from the cask. We offer a memorable experience unique to our distillery, where you can compare the different personalities of the two casks with your five senses in the quiet atmosphere of the warehouse. Furthermore, we offer a paid option where you can fill a bottle yourself from the cask with the whisky you liked during the tasting and take it home as a souvenir. The process of drawing the raw whisky using a special tool called a 'valinch,' measuring it, and pouring it into a bottle is a dream experience for whisky fans. By adding a handwritten label at the end, a special, one-of-a-kind bottle is completed.
