Carepo Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Mito City, Ibaraki Prefecture, Representative Director: Yoichiro Akasu) is primarily engaged in the maintenance of new automobiles, automobile maintenance-related operations, and the maintenance and sale of used automobile parts for reuse. We are also working on recycling metal resources from dismantled automobiles.

Furthermore, by leveraging our expertise in new car maintenance, storage, management, and automobile recycling, and by utilizing the characteristics of the circulation industry, we aim to build a resource circulation platform and contribute to Japan's manufacturing and economic security.

As the first step in building a resource circulation platform, we developed our own service, Choice!, which will enter its second year of operation in 2026.

What is Choice!? A service that lends out cars with guaranteed resource circulation at a low price, leading to environmental contribution.

Among cars destined for disposal, there are some that can still be driven if repaired and maintained.

We select these cars and rebuild them into new cars using reusable parts.

These are called "recycled vehicles." "Choice!" is a service that makes these "recycled vehicles" available for monthly use at a low price.

Choice! is recommended for those who "don't have strong preferences for cars and don't want to spend a lot of money," "want to reduce the management costs of company cars," or "local governments and companies want to engage in environmental contribution activities."

The current number of units introduced exceeds 120 (as of June 25, 2026), and they are being used not only by general users but also by companies in the prefecture as company cars.

Choice!, Selected by Excellent Companies in the Region

Excellent companies in Ibaraki Prefecture are also using Choice! as their company cars.

Mito Shinkin Bank previously visited customers by motorcycle, but due to store consolidation and other factors, their assigned service areas have become wider, and considering the nature of Ibaraki, they decided to introduce Choice!. They have expressed satisfaction, stating, "The usage fees are cheaper than before, leading to cost reductions," and "Even if an employee unfamiliar with driving accidentally damages the vehicle, there is no obligation to repair it if it doesn't affect driving, which is a significant benefit as it means no additional costs for our bank."

Kasama City Hall, on the other hand, declared "Zero Plastic Waste" in 2020 and revised its Second Kasama City Environmental Basic Plan in 2021, along with a "Zero Carbon City Declaration." Towards achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, the city hall is also working to reduce its environmental impact as a local business.

As part of this initiative, they have introduced Choice! as a light truck for collecting scattered garbage on city streets.

Choice! has created diverse touchpoints with customers and has held a wide range of events not only for on-site vehicle displays but also to implement the popular "Oekaki Car" (drawing car) content and to provide opportunities to communicate the significance of the service's existence towards realizing a sustainable mobility society.

At commercial facilities and housing exhibition halls, we not only allowed customers to experience Choice! casually but also presented how it could fit into their lifestyles. At universities in Ibaraki Prefecture, we exhibited to propose the easy car life of Choice! to the students who will lead the future, stating "It can be paid for with part-time job earnings on a fixed monthly basis." At environmental festivals, we received deep empathy from many people for the specific environmental considerations promoted by Choice!.

Through these activities, we have received positive feedback from customers such as, "I learned for the first time that cars are recycled," "I empathized with the social contribution initiatives," and "Seeing the actual car gave me a clearer image of using the service." This has greatly contributed to increasing the brand awareness of Choice!, expanding the fan base that sympathizes with it, and ultimately leading to a virtuous cycle of contributing to the local community and business activities.
