Launch of 'Rental Tablets for Disaster Victim Life Reconstruction Support System (Building Damage Assessment Survey)'

NTT REC Corporation (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President: Takeshi Nii; hereinafter 'NTT REC') will launch a new service menu, 'Tablet Rental Menu for Disaster Victim Life Reconstruction Support System (Building Damage Assessment Survey),' starting June 1, 2026. This service provides pre-kitted tablet devices with the necessary applications for the 'Disaster Victim Life Reconstruction Support System' provided by NTT East. This menu allows local governments to immediately utilize the tablets for building damage assessment surveys at disaster sites without the hassle of device configuration or application installation, thereby supporting rapid initial response for disaster victim recovery. In recent years, the intensification and frequency of natural disasters have required local governments to respond quickly and accurately to grasp damage situations and handle support procedures immediately after a disaster. In particular, building damage assessment surveys using the system are critical tasks that serve as a prerequisite for issuing disaster victim certificates and providing various forms of support, necessitating the rapid establishment of survey teams. However, in actual field operations, local governments often face challenges such as not holding sufficient devices during normal times, lacking time to install apps on urgently procured devices, and confusion due to inconsistent operating environments, which lead to delays in starting surveys. To solve these issues, we have prepared a tablet rental menu that provides the system in a ready-to-use state. Key features include the provision of pre-kitted tablets, which can be shipped in as little as two business days, allowing immediate use upon power-on. It also offers flexible usage based on the required period and quantity, reducing the burden of equipment procurement and storage. Furthermore, in the event of a failure, a send-back method providing a replacement unit in advance ensures business continuity. The pricing is 6,100 JPY/unit per month for the short-term course (1 month+) and 5,500 JPY/unit per month for the six-month course (6 months+). We will continue to contribute to improving the disaster response capabilities of local governments.
