Located within the Minamiboso Quasi-National Park at Taibusa Misaki, a scenic cape surrounded by rich nature and overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the resort hotel "Grand Mercure Minamiboso Resort & Spa" (Minamiboso City, Chiba Prefecture; General Manager: Shintaro Fukuda) will collaborate with "Kimura Peanuts," a specialty peanut shop established in 1968 in Tateyama City, Chiba, to host a one-day-only lunch event on October 4, 2026 (Sunday), celebrating the seasonal flavors of Minamiboso.

This event marks the third installment in a series of seasonal lunch events showcasing the unique culinary charm of Minamiboso. Chiba Prefecture produces approximately 80% of Japan's domestic peanuts (*), with the harvest season running from September to late November. For this special occasion, the hotel's chef has crafted an exquisite French full-course menu using Kimura Peanuts' homegrown peanuts from their Farm in the Boso region, alongside other local autumn ingredients such as Chiba-grown Ise lobster, Minamiboso-caught swordfish, and returning bonito. Additionally, each participant will receive a special gift box from Kimura Peanuts containing boiled peanuts, hand-shelled peanuts, domestic "mizore" peanuts, domestic butter peanuts, and seasoned domestic peanuts—allowing guests to continue enjoying the flavors of the event at home. Furthermore, every Sunday in October, Kimura Peanuts will host a peanut and sweet potato harvesting experience at their farm, offering families a hands-on opportunity to connect with the autumn bounty of Minamiboso.

A One-Day-Only French Course Infused with the Flavors of Minamiboso’s Autumn Harvest

This French full-course menu creatively incorporates Kimura Peanuts' peanuts into appetizers, main dishes, and more. Through various cooking techniques—boiling, roasting, and incorporating into sauces—the natural sweetness, nutty aroma, and rich umami of peanuts are fully highlighted. Paired with seasonal local ingredients such as Chiba-grown Ise lobster, returning bonito, and Minamiboso swordfish, each dish celebrates the region’s bountiful harvest.

Menu Highlights

### Amuse-bouche

- Boiled Peanut and Prosciutto Croquette

A delicate amuse featuring the fluffy texture and gentle sweetness of boiled peanuts combined with the saltiness of prosciutto. The nutty aroma unfolds instantly upon the first bite.

### Entrée

- Chiba-grown Ise Lobster with Buckwheat from Nagare Village

Featuring Chiba-grown Ise lobster at its peak season (September–October), known for its firm, sweet, and springy texture. The nutty flavor of buckwheat from Nagare Village harmonizes beautifully, offering a taste of both sea and land in one dish.

- Bonito Cutlet with Roasted Peanut and Bacon Dressing

Rich, fatty returning bonito is prepared as a cutlet and served with a dressing of roasted peanuts and bacon. The nutty fragrance of peanuts and savory depth of bacon enhance the bold flavor of the bonito.

The dressing uses naturally brewed soy sauce from Miya Shoyu in Futtsu, Chiba—a traditionally fermented soy sauce made without artificial temperature control, adding depth and umami.

### Poisson

- Steamed Minamiboso Swordfish with Shine Muscat and Caviar, White Wine Sauce with Peanut Flavor

Tenderly steamed Minamiboso swordfish is paired with the refreshing sweetness of Shine Muscat grapes and the salinity of caviar. A white wine sauce infused with peanut flavor adds a smooth, rich depth to the delicate fish.

### Viande

- Slow-Cooked Wagyu Ribeye with Chiba-grown Koshihikari Rice and Mushrooms, Truffle-Infused

Wagyu ribeye is gently slow-cooked to achieve a tender, juicy texture and bring out its natural umami. Served with a savory pilaf of Chiba-grown Koshihikari rice and mushrooms, enhanced with truffle aroma—a deeply satisfying dish embodying the essence of autumn.

### Dessert

- Peanut Cream Mont Blanc with Minoaka Milk Ice Cream

A Mont Blanc featuring peanuts and sweet potatoes—two iconic autumn ingredients. The smooth, creamy texture and gentle sweetness provide a perfect finish to the course. The ice cream, made with milk from "Minoaka Kobo," the birthplace of Japanese dairy farming, uses fresh raw milk from Minamiboso City, offering a rich, authentic dairy flavor with a clean finish.
