Accor, a world-leading hospitality group based in Paris, and Tokyu Resorts & Stay Co., Ltd. announced the grand opening of "Mercure Tokyu Stay Hiroshima" on May 18, 2026.

Located just a two-minute walk from Hatchobori Station in central Hiroshima, the hotel features 182 rooms. It represents the first entry into Hiroshima for both brands, the second double-branded hotel with Tokyu Stay in Japan, and the 20th Mercure brand hotel in the country.

The hotel merges Tokyu Stay’s high functionality for medium to long-term stays with Mercure’s philosophy of locally rooted hospitality found in over 1,000 locations globally. It aims to be a new hub for travelers to connect with Hiroshima’s history, culture, and urban charm.

The spatial design, handled by FAMS (who also designed Mercure Hida Takayama), follows the concept of "Beauty of Water and Light," inspired by the rivers and waterscapes of Hiroshima. The 182 guest rooms range from 17 to 50 square meters across 10 types. Many are equipped with kitchenettes, washer-dryers, microwaves, and frozen refrigerators to support extended stays. Interior accents include vermillion reminiscent of Itsukushima Shrine and carpets inspired by the glimmering river surfaces.

Facilities include the "SHARE LOUNGE Mercure Tokyu Stay Hiroshima" operated by CCC, meeting rooms, and a fitness gym. The hotel actively collaborates with local creators; the breakfast theme "Hiroshima Craft Bread & Coffee" features products from the legendary bakery "Aloft" and "MOUNT COFFEE," which oversaw coffee for world leaders at the G7 Hiroshima Summit.

Dean Daniels, Representative Director of Accor Japan, commented: "We are delighted to open Mercure Tokyu Stay Hiroshima. This is a milestone as our 20th Mercure in Japan. Hiroshima is a destination attracting global attention, and the Mercure brand's focus on local culture is a perfect fit."

Kenichi Yamawaki, President of Tokyu Resorts & Stay, stated: "Opening on May 18, 2026, we combine Tokyu Stay’s 'stay like living' functionality with Mercure’s refined sensibility to create a new scene of hospitality in Hiroshima’s Hatchobori district."
