'World of Warships: Legends' Introduces New American Destroyers and American Independence Day Event Starting June 29

Wargaming is pleased to announce the launch of summer celebration content, adorned with the Stars and Stripes, for its hit online naval action game "World of Warships: Legends" (WoWS: Legends), available on PlayStation®4, PlayStation®5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and smartphones (iOS/Android). To commemorate the 250th anniversary of American Independence Day, players can enjoy a themed event packed with activities, including a dedicated collection and a calendar offering numerous rewards. Furthermore, a new themed campaign will feature an American premium battleship, and a new sub-branch of American destroyers will be available for early access.

Themed Event to Celebrate the 250th Anniversary of American Independence Day

The celebratory mood extends to the seas of "Legends," where players can engage in dedicated activities such as the "Freedom of Three Eras" collection and the "Big Chief" calendar. By completing the calendar daily, players can unlock the new commander "Ernest E. Evans," as well as three types of commander costumes inspired by prominent figures from various eras of U.S. Naval history. During the update period, players can also collect the special currency "Independium." This currency can be exchanged for the new Legendary Tier destroyer "USS Burrows," special skins inspired by different eras of U.S. Naval history, and new skins for the early access destroyers.

American Destroyer Sub-Branch Available for Early Access

Newly introduced to the game is a sub-branch of American destroyers consisting of four ships: "Kane," "Hughes," "Osborne," and "Christopher." These vessels are all equipped with "Advanced Radar," a feature that periodically displays the position of detected enemies on the minimap, even if they are not yet spotted. The new ships can be obtained from special American Alternate Destroyer Crates and the "Steel Eagle" random bundle. The latter may also drop the new American Tier VIII premium cruiser "Cambridge."

Unlock Indiana in the New Campaign "Pacific Hammer"

To conclude the July update, players can enjoy a new campaign that challenges them to achieve 100 milestones over five weeks. The final reward awaiting players who complete the campaign with an active Maritime Support will be the American Tier VIII premium battleship "Indiana." Additionally, numerous other rewards are available. The historical ship "Indiana" of the South Dakota class is equipped with powerful secondary armaments and a comprehensive set of consumables, allowing players to choose between "Repair Party," "Sonar," and either "Enhanced Secondary Battery Aiming," "Spotting Aircraft," or "Fighter Aircraft."
