Naval Action Game 'World of Warships' to Host Special Livestream Exploring 160 Years of Torpedo History

Wargaming has announced that it will hold the annual historical livestream event 'The Museum's Longest Night' for its massively popular PC online naval action game 'World of Warships' on Monday, June 15, 2026. For the 6th edition, in collaboration with seven world-renowned museums, a free virtual tour themed around 160 years of torpedo history will be streamed live on the official 'World of Warships' Twitch channel.

'The Museum's Longest Night' is a special streaming project held in conjunction with 'Museum Night', a cultural event that takes place annually across Europe. This year marks its 6th edition. 'Museum Night' is a regular event where museums and cultural institutions open their doors to visitors throughout the night. This year's theme is 'Torpedoes'. The broadcast will trace 160 years of torpedo history, from the revolutionary self-propelled torpedo developed by Robert Whitehead in the 19th century, through precision-guided weapons of the Cold War era, to the present day.

The broadcast is scheduled to begin at 1:00 AM Japan Time on Tuesday, June 16, on the official 'World of Warships' Twitch channel, with a planned duration of approximately 4 hours. Seven museums from around the world, including the United States, Norway, England, and Australia, will participate, providing expert commentary on the history of torpedoes from different eras.

Viewers can participate in Q&A sessions with museum staff, gain special access to valuable torpedo-related materials and restored exhibits, and enjoy special documentary footage from military history partners.

Furthermore, in addition to exclusive information reveals and Twitch Drops, the event will feature a special 4-part combat mission themed around torpedoes within 'World of Warships'. Players can take on various torpedo-related challenges, such as achieving torpedo damage or flooding damage, landing torpedo hits, and detecting incoming torpedoes, earning rewards like in-game containers and camouflage based on their performance.
