Andaz Tokyo Toranomon Hills (General Manager: Thomas Vidal, Location: Toranomon Hills Mori Tower, 1-23-4 Toranomon, Minato-ku, Tokyo) will host a new event series, 'TOKYO HORIZON — City Pop Experience', across three sessions throughout 2026 at 'The Tavern Lounge' located on the 51st floor of the hotel. The theme revolves around 'City Pop', a music genre originating from Japan that is undergoing its own evolution backed by global re-evaluation. The inaugural session on Friday, May 29, will feature RYUSENKEI, who has driven the City Pop scene, along with internationally active and trending DJs Night Tempo and Natsu Summer, delivering an unprecedented musical experience in a supreme location overlooking the Tokyo nightscape. Born against the backdrop of urban culture post-rapid economic growth, City Pop is once again drawing the attention of listeners worldwide as music symbolizing sophisticated sounds and urban sensibilities. At this event, the charm of City Pop—where nostalgia and modernity intersect—will be reconstructed from Andaz Tokyo's unique perspective. By elevating the intersection of music, space, and people into an immersive experience, we will provide a special time where the city and music resonate together, accompanied by live performances from globally active artists and DJs. The setting, 'The Tavern Lounge' on the 51st floor, is an open, extraordinary space offering panoramic views of the Tokyo nightscape. With a sound system revamped last year, guests can physically experience the delicate soundscapes and deep grooves characteristic of City Pop with an immersive resonance. Stepping away from the hustle and bustle of the city, surrendering to the music in a place where sky and light melt together softly unravels the boundary between the everyday and the extraordinary. Furthermore, this event series unfolds as a new venue embodying the three core philosophies of the luxury lifestyle brand 'Andaz': 'Rooted' (compelling local experiences), 'Enriching' (inspiring, rich experiences), and 'Empowering' (special spaces for self-care and self-discovery). Under 'Rooted', we take Japan's unique music culture nurtured by the city of Tokyo as our theme, unraveling the history and context of City Pop while reinterpreting it from a global perspective. In Vol.1, the first of the series, RYUSENKEI, who has led Japan's City Pop scene for many years, will appear for a live performance featuring Sincere. Additionally, highly acclaimed DJs from Japan and abroad, such as Night Tempo and Natsu Summer, will color the space with sophisticated track selections. In the following Vol.2 scheduled for Friday, July 31, alongside a live performance by SIRUP—who is gaining attention for his genre-crossing musicality—talented DJs Tomoyuki Tanaka (FPM) and YonYon are scheduled to perform. Moreover, the event will offer the original cocktail 'Tavern Melon Pop', created specifically for this day and inspired by the 'cream soda' reminiscent of City Pop, alongside chef's special canapés, and free-flowing drinks including beer and wine.
