In recent years, 'supply chain attacks,' where cyber attackers infiltrate companies and government agencies through business partners, contractors, or software vendors, have become a major issue. Even if a company strengthens its own security measures, if the entire supply chain, including business partners and contractors, is not adequately protected, it can become an entry point for attacks.

In response to this situation, relevant organizations such as the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Information-technology Promotion Agency, Japan (IPA) are developing guidelines and various measures aimed at improving security across the entire supply chain.
