[April Dream] The Melody of the Heart: The Unique 'Portrait Piano' Resonating in the AI Era

(CEO: Yuka Kobayashi, Minato-ku) is supporting the expansion of the 'Portrait Piano' project by world-renowned Italian pianist and composer Alberto Pizzo, aiming to promote art where human sensibility and creativity shine in the age of AI. This project is a unique attempt to create one-of-a-kind original music by performing 'sound portraits' through improvisation right in front of the audience. Our dream is to start this activity in Japan with Alberto Pizzo and turn it into a global movement. What is 'Portrait Piano'? When you hear 'portrait,' you might imagine a drawing with paper and pen. However, this project delivers a one-of-a-kind portrait drawn with 'sound' rather than visuals. It is a performance where Alberto Pizzo faces the audience and creates a piano piece on the spot based on his inspiration. Just as a painter uses a canvas, Pizzo uses the keyboard as a 'palette' to sublimate the individual's personality and emotions into melodies. He captures the expressions, atmosphere, and energy of the person in front of him, weaving a melody that is born only in that moment. The music played becomes a unique, one-time-only original work, providing a deeply moving and unforgettable experience. Three points of this project: 1. Improvisational Dialogue: A once-in-a-lifetime melody born from the inspiration of the moment, not a pre-written score. 2. Music that Weaves Life: We value deep emotional connections with the audience by shaping the 'fragments of life' and 'brilliance of the soul' of each listener into sound. 3. Sharing Dreams: He believes music is for 'giving joy and excitement,' and through these portraits, he provides an experience where the audience can touch the dreams and memories within themselves. [Alberto Pizzo Profile] Born in Naples, Italy. Started piano at a national conservatory at age 4. Graduated top of his class from the Naples Conservatory. Debuted as a composer for Italian national television. Moved to New York in 2011 to study jazz. Major debut with 'Funambulist.' Released 'ON THE WAY' and 'MEMORIES' (Sony Classical). Recorded at Abbey Road Studios in London. Performed recitals worldwide. Released the Japan-exclusive best album 'AMORE' via Yamaha Music Entertainment. Won 1st place in the piano category and the Grand Prix at the 3rd Ibla Grand Prize. His album 'Skylight,' featuring the theme song 'Sky' for the Italy Pavilion at the Osaka Expo, is now on sale.
