Yorisoi Bosai Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture, Representative Director: Kenji Tanaka) will launch a new project for its disaster preparedness brand "YOKAREKASHI," which was started by leveraging the experience of a former paramedic, on the crowdfunding site "CAMPFIRE" from Friday, July 3, 2026.

This project is the first model case for sharing a system that connects local resources and welfare nationwide in the future. To protect the precious daily lives that exist "outside the scope of 119," we are broadly seeking support for video production that protects the dignity of evacuation centers, and simultaneously for "one box support" to deliver products directly to local welfare evacuation centers and designated evacuation centers.

[Background of Project Launch]

"No injuries or illnesses. Therefore, it is not subject to 119." -- With the establishment of the Disaster Management Agency imminent, the dignity of life in evacuation and the issue of toilets "outside the scope of 119" emerge.

The origin of this project lies in the experience of Representative Director Kenji Tanaka, who stood on the front lines of 119 calls as an emergency paramedic. In times of disaster, emergency activities and medical support are provided to those in urgent situations, such as those who have suffered injuries or illnesses requiring treatment or transport.

On the other hand, ambulances are not called when there are no health issues.

However, within the daily lives "outside the scope of 119," that is, during evacuation life without injuries or illnesses, there are undeniable inconveniences and hardships that cannot be ignored.

The Noto Peninsula Earthquake, which the company faced after its establishment, was a particularly stark reminder of this reality.

When confronted with the sight of people enduring prolonged and difficult evacuation life in harsh conditions, huddled in greenhouses, the determination to "protect the lives after survival with reliable tools this time" became firm.

Based on these urgent lessons from the field, the emergency toilet "YOKAREKASHI" with a 15-year shelf life was developed. This product has grown into a product that has received much support and solid evaluation from people across the country, including setting a Guinness World Record in the emergency toilet category on Makuake, winning the Gold Award at "Omotenashi Selection 2025," and being selected for "Press Release Award 2025" Best 101.

Coincidentally, with the establishment of the "Disaster Management Agency" around the fall of 2026, and with calls for "quality improvement" in disaster preparedness and support for disaster victims nationwide, Japan's disaster preparedness is at a major turning point, moving from the phase of simply stocking goods to the phase of protecting the "QOL (Quality of Life) and dignity" of each individual during evacuation life.

The "toilet (excretion) environment" is the space most directly related to "dignity" and is the biggest challenge affecting the quality of evacuation life.

While awareness of disaster preparedness at home is increasing, new challenges are also emerging.

This is the "significant discrepancy" between the peace of mind at the time of purchase and the actual user experience.

In previous projects, we received several earnest voices from residents stating, "Even though we had prepared emergency toilets beforehand, when we actually used them in an emergency, we faced serious problems such as 'odor' that differed from our prior image, which undermined our ability to maintain our lives and our morale."

While adoption is progressing, the reality is that reliable performance standards that can withstand harsh environments are not fully communicated to residents, and in many cases, true peace of mind cannot be obtained during emergencies.

Regarding this "decisive gap between purchase and use," a survey conducted by the brand beforehand (targeting 483 people) yielded a surprising result. As many as 91.7% responded that they "want to choose emergency toilets that are well-equipped with features such as odor control, rather than just cheap ones."

To earnestly respond to this societal demand for "quality and dignity," the brand has developed an emergency toilet with thoroughly refined quality from the perspectives of a former emergency paramedic and a former nurse.

To address the "odor problem," which emerged as the most serious issue in the survey, we have achieved remarkable odor-blocking power with a special 5-layer film structure. Furthermore, by incorporating high-quality cedar wood powder from "Naka Wood Co., Ltd.," nurtured by the rich forests of Tokushima, in addition to general chemical solidifying agents, we have enabled overwhelming deodorizing and antibacterial properties. Its quality, which condenses reliable functionality and a commitment to nature, does not allow any odor to escape into the evacuation living space, and it has been selected as a hometown tax donation return gift in Kurume City, Fukuoka Prefecture.

This thorough commitment to quality stems from a "what if" that Representative Director Tanaka constantly had while driving to emergency scenes as a paramedic.

At the time, Tanaka keenly felt, "If AEDs were in every home, there would be more lives saved." This is because, at the crucial moment, whether "reliable tools" are readily available can greatly determine the future.

This truth that "reliable tools readily available protect loved ones" applies equally to disaster preparedness. In times of disaster, having preparations you can truly trust at hand becomes a decisive "fortress" for people to maintain their dignity and look forward amidst confusion in an environment where their lives and individuality are easily threatened.

We want to protect the quality of life and precious dignity of each person in evacuation life, which everyone faces, even without visible injuries or illnesses. With that desire, the brand has earnestly shaped new forms of support and preparedness.

[Initiatives of This Project]

Two challenges to protect "outside the scope of 119." "Video production" to change awareness and "one box support" to deliver to the field.

1 Support recruitment for "Video Production" to protect the dignity of evacuation centers.

Through this project, we are broadly seeking support for video production aimed at protecting the dignity of individuals in evacuation centers. It is a challenge to create a video that conveys the reality of evacuation life, which cannot be fully communicated through text or numbers alone, and to disseminate the "importance of dignity" to Japan's disaster preparedness environment.

2 "One Box Support" to deliver directly to where it is needed.

Based on the support from our supporters, we will introduce a system to deliver "YOKAREKASHI" directly to places where it can be useful, such as welfare facilities, evacuation centers, and community centers, after discussions with local councils of social welfare.

We will directly deliver reliable peace of mind through one box of support to the sites where it is needed, without limiting the delivery destinations, and build a future that supports precious daily lives in each location.

[Reliable Product Strength and Complete Production/Supply System]

Connecting local resources in Tokushima with local welfare facilities. "YOKAREKASHI's" complete production system that enables 15-year preservation.

The background to its reliable deodorizing and odor-blocking performance lies in YOKAREKASHI's unique commitment to nature. In addition to general chemical solidifying agents, high-quality wood powder from "Naka Wood Co., Ltd.," nurtured by the rich forests of Tokushima, is blended to provide overwhelming deodorizing power and bring peace of mind to evacuation life.

The production system for the main body of the 15-year shelf-life emergency toilet "YOKAREKASHI," and the packaging production system in close cooperation with the local disability welfare facility "Nenrin no Sono," are already fully established. With the start of crowdfunding, we have prepared a sustainable manufacturing and supply model that can reliably and promptly deliver products to our supporters and the welfare sites that will receive them.

Furthermore, the work supervisor at the welfare facility responsible for this production is the representative's younger brother, and we aim to build a strong, long-term cooperative and community welfare model that fuses the knowledge of the former paramedic brother with the expertise of the brother who knows the welfare field.

[Future Outlook: "New Disaster Preparedness Cycle" Connecting Local Resources and Welfare to All Parts of Japan]

From Fukuoka, Kurume to nationwide. Sharing a sustainable manufacturing model and a roadmap for the "next step" to be announced soon.

Through the implementation of this project and the videos produced, the brand will present a roadmap for the next step: "sharing the model nationwide."

Currently, we are building a sustainable manufacturing model that connects local resources and welfare, and in the next crowdfunding campaign to be announced soon, we plan to announce the next development that will shape this "new disaster preparedness cycle" based on this system. We will present the next step to society, looking towards a future that delivers dignity and circulation to each region.

From disaster preparedness for stocking to disaster preparedness that protects the dignity of life after survival.

We aim to create a world where peace of mind at the time of purchase is directly linked to "true peace of mind" in times of emergency, and we will establish a new standard for Japan's future preparedness.
