Z Venture Capital (ZVC) has invested in the Series B round of MJOLNIR SPACEWORKS (MSW), which aims to mass-produce hybrid rocket engines and high-performance space tanks.

With the acceleration of private space development, the demand for small satellite launches is surging globally. However, there remains a significant gap between supply and demand, with the issue of being unable to launch satellites despite wanting to do so becoming apparent. Currently, there is a shortage of providers capable of mass-producing rocket engines safely and affordably.

As a deep-tech startup originating from Hokkaido University, MSW is deploying its proprietary 'CAMUI-type hybrid rocket engine' technology. This engine features a 'hybrid system' that uses plastic as fuel. It boasts three key strengths: high safety, simplicity due to fewer parts, and low cost facilitating mass production. The company has already succeeded in conducting one of Japan's largest engine combustion tests.

In addition, it possesses a unique technology for 'welding-free tanks' without seams, which achieves stable quality, short lead times, and low costs.

As private space development accelerates, increasing the supply of rockets to carry satellites into space is key to supporting the growth of the entire space industry. We are confident that MSW, which mass-produces rocket engines and tanks safely and at low cost, is a vital entity to resolve these supply constraints.

ZVC is fully committed to supporting MSW's challenge to realize its mission of aiming for the world's number one position again through the mass production of rockets.
