Z-kai Co., Ltd., a group company of Zoshinkai Holdings Inc. (Z-kai Group), will begin recruiting scholarship students for the "Z-kai Scholarship" starting April 1, 2026, targeting high school seniors who plan to enter university in April 2027.

The purpose of this scholarship is to support students who have difficulty continuing their studies due to economic reasons and to provide them with an opportunity to concentrate more on their studies by alleviating their financial burden.

The Z-kai Scholarship offers generous support, including:

・ Non-repayable grant-type scholarship

・ Monthly stipend of 120,000 yen (totaling 5.76 million yen over four years of university)

・ Additional special scholarship of up to 500,000 yen

・ Can be combined with Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) grant-type scholarships

1. Scholarship Grant

1) Grant Amount: 120,000 yen per month (Total grant amount over 4 years is 5.76 million yen)

*For four years from university enrollment until graduation

2) Special Scholarship: An evaluation will be conducted annually based on "achieving excellent academic results in university studies" and "taking concrete actions that contribute to social innovation and development." Excellent students will receive an additional grant of up to 500,000 yen in addition to the regular scholarship.

3) Combination with other scholarships: Loan-type scholarships are permissible. Grant-type scholarships from the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), scholarships for orphans, and orphan's pensions can be combined. Combination with university tuition fee exemptions is also possible.

2. Eligibility Requirements

1) Eligible applicants: High school seniors as of April 2026 who wish to enroll in a university designated by Z-kai, genuinely require financial assistance, and demonstrate excellent academic performance and character.

2) Academic performance: Average academic grade point of 4.5 or higher up to the second year of high school.

3) Household income: Less than 6 million yen per year for salaried households, less than 3 million yen per year for non-salaried households.

4) Assets: Total assets less than 20 million yen if there are two primary income earners, less than 12.5 million yen if there is one primary income earner.

*We will comprehensively assess economic and family circumstances, so please consult us even if you do not meet the above criteria.

3. Designated Universities

The designated universities are the following 15 universities:

Hokkaido University, Tohoku University, Akita International University, University of Tsukuba, Chiba University, The University of Tokyo, Institute of Science Tokyo, Ochanomizu University, Hitotsubashi University, Yokohama National University, Nagoya University, Kyoto University, Osaka University, Kobe University, Kyushu University

*Evening and correspondence courses are not eligible.

*Six-year faculties such as medical, dental, veterinary, and pharmaceutical faculties are not eligible.

5. Application Method

Applications are submitted online via the Z-kai Scholarship website (https://www.zkai.co.jp/home/scholarship/) and consist of two stages: [STEP 1: Basic Information Registration] and [STEP 2: Report Submission]. Both stages must be completed by the application deadline.

6. Application Period

From April 1, 2026 (Wednesday) to May 31, 2026 (Sunday) at 23:59.

7. Selection and Decision

Provisional recipients will be decided by the end of August 2026, following document screening, a first web interview, and a second web interview. The provisional recipients will be formally confirmed upon admission to a Z-kai designated university.
