ZIPCARE’s Smart Care Sensor “MAMORUNO” Named Finalist at Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards 2026

ZIPCARE Inc., the developer and provider of the smart care sensor “MAMORUNO,” announced that it was selected as a finalist in the Home Monitoring Solution category at the 14th Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards 2026, an international award for the eldercare and nursing care sector in the Asia-Pacific region, held in Singapore in April 2026. The selection recognized ZIPCARE’s track record in demonstration research in Japan, collaboration with community healthcare, and efforts toward Asian expansion, including planned joint research in Malaysia. Through its participation in the award, ZIPCARE aims to further accelerate its business development toward building a globally standardized model of “systematized hospitality” that is not confined to Japan’s emotionally driven approach to care. The Asia Pacific Eldercare Innovation Awards honor innovative business models and technologies that address the challenges of aging societies across the Asia-Pacific region. ZIPCARE entered the Home Monitoring Solution category and was selected as one of four companies advancing to the final round from 420 applications across 16 countries. During the final pitch in Singapore, the company presented entirely in English on how MAMORUNO can solve challenges in both facility-based and home-based care, drawing strong interest from judges from various countries. ZIPCARE has been leading nursing care DX in Japan through the use of MAMORUNO. In a demonstration study in Hiroshima Prefecture, the company scientifically verified that using data from ICT monitoring devices can increase care workers’ autonomy and feedback opportunities, improving their sense of fulfillment at work. MAMORUNO has also been adopted in the Itabashi Medical Association’s Home Medical Care Promotion and Reinforcement Project in Tokyo, where it is used as monitoring infrastructure for biometric and environmental information under a 24/7 backup system coordinated with primary care physicians. Building on its achievements in reducing the burden on caregivers and families in both facility and home care settings in Japan, ZIPCARE is now working with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) on joint research to establish care standards adapted to frontline care environments in Asia. Although ZIPCARE did not win the grand prize this year, the company said its pitch in Singapore, a multiethnic and pragmatic country, as well as site visits to local public housing designed to support senior independence, provided a decisive perspective for global expansion. This experience will inform its next strategy: redefining Japanese nursing care. MAMORUNO monitors pulse, respiration, body movement, and sleep duration 24 hours a day without requiring the user to wear a device. It also measures room temperature and humidity to support heatstroke prevention. By working with local medical institutions, the system connects monitoring in care facilities and home care settings seamlessly, supporting collaboration between care teams and families.
