Aichi and Gifu Local Sake Event “SAKAE SAKE SQUARE 2026” to Be Held in Nagoya’s Sakae from July 18 to 20

The Aichi Sake Brewers Association, the Gifu Sake Brewers Association Federation, and ZIP-FM will hold “SAKAE SAKE SQUARE 2026,” an event where visitors can enjoy local sake from Aichi and Gifu in the heart of Sakae, Nagoya. The event will take place over three days from Saturday, July 18 to Monday, July 20, 2026, at a special venue in the Galaxy Platform area of Oasis 21. More than 20 breweries will participate each day, with a total of 50 breweries across the three days: 24 from Aichi and 26 from Gifu. More than 140 sake labels are expected to be available. As in previous years, some labels will also be served on the rocks or mixed with soda. Details of the featured sake lineup will be announced at a later date. The organizers invite visitors to enjoy “summer sake” from Aichi and Gifu during Japan’s three-day holiday weekend in July. The event is titled “SAKAE SAKE SQUARE 2026.” It will be held from July 18 to 20, 2026. Hours are 13:00 to 21:30 on July 18, with last orders at 21:00; 11:00 to 20:00 on July 19, with last orders at 19:30; and 10:00 to 18:00 on July 20, with last orders at 17:30. As a heat countermeasure this year, operating hours differ by day. Sake service will also pause during rest periods: 15:00 to 15:30 on Saturday, and 14:30 to 15:00 on Sunday and Monday. The venue is the special event site at Galaxy Platform, Oasis 21, in Sakae, Nagoya. The event is organized by the Aichi Sake Brewers Association, the Gifu Sake Brewers Association Federation, and ZIP-FM, with support from the City of Nagoya and cooperation from Oasis 21. Aichi Prefecture will be represented by 24 breweries. Aichi has been active in sake brewing for around 1,000 years and ranks seventh in Japan by production volume. Participating breweries include Aioi Unibio, Aoki Shuzo, Kamisugi Shuzo, Kankyo Shuzo, Kiyosu Zakura Jozo, Kintora Shuzo, Kunpeki Shuzo, Sugiura Mirin, Sekiya Jozo, Chochin Shuzo, Tsurumi Shuzo, Azumaharu Shuzo, Naito Jozo, Nakano Shuzo, Nagai Shuzojo, Harada Shuzo, Fukui Shuzo, Marui, Mizutani Shuzo, Morita, Morita Kinshachi Shuzo, Yamazaki, Yamada Shuzo, and Yamamori Shuzo. Gifu Prefecture will be represented by 26 breweries. Gifu’s sake is brewed with clear underground water fed by snowmelt from the Northern Alps, Mount Ibuki, and Mount Ena. Participating breweries include Adachi Shuzojo, Iwamura Jozo, Otsuka Shuzo, Gyokusendo Shuzo, Kuramoto Yamada, Kosaka Shuzojo, Komachi Shuzo, Takeuchi Shuzo, Chigonoiwa Shuzo, Chiyogiku, Tenryo Shuzo, Nakashima Jozo, Hazama Shuzo, Hanazakari Shuzo, Hayashi Shuzo, Hirata Shuzojo, Hirano Jozo, Funasaka Shuzo, Heiwanishiki Shuzo, Michisakari, Miyozakura Jozo, Miwa Shuzo, Yamauchi Shuzo, Wakaba, Watanabe Shuzo Jo, and Watanabe Shuzoten. To participate, visitors must purchase a Starter Set. The Starter Set includes 10 food and drink coins, an original sake cup, and a wristband. Coins can be exchanged for sake and food, and side dishes and soft drinks must also be purchased with coins. Advance tickets are available through play guide services. The Starter Set advance ticket is priced at 3,000 yen and can be purchased via Lawson Ticket with L-code 43246, Ticket Pia with P-code 996-052, eplus, and KKday. The Sake Festival Guide app will offer app-exclusive tickets, including a coin-boosted Starter Set advance ticket for 4,500 yen, which includes 20 coins, an original sake cup, and a wristband; a Starter Set advance ticket for 3,000 yen; an Eco Discount Starter Set advance ticket for 3,000 yen for visitors who can use a sake cup from a past event, including 13 coins and a wristband per person; and a small Starter Set for those who want a lighter experience, including only the original sake cup and wristband with no coins. Same-day Starter Set tickets will cost 3,600 yen and will be sold through the app and at the venue only if capacity allows. Additional coins will be sold at the venue for 200 yen each. Important notes: People under 20 may not purchase sake. Drunk driving and underage drinking are strictly prohibited. Visitors are asked to use public transportation. Staff may check IDs to prevent drinking by people under 20.
