Kokumin Kyosai coop Launches First Forest Building Initiative: 'Kokumin Kyosai coop Forest' to Create and Nurture Forests with Union Members

Kokumin Kyosai coop (National Federation of Workers and Consumers Kyosai Cooperatives; Representative Director and President: Akiichi Uchikoshi) is launching a new initiative, 'Kokumin Kyosai coop Forest,' to create and nurture forests together with its union members. This is part of the 'Zutto Zutto Action' program, which aims to protect the environment in collaboration with members.

Under this initiative, the paper costs saved when union members register for 'My Page' will be donated to 'Present Tree,' a project operated by the certified NPO Environmental Relations (President: Atsuko Suzuki), to build future forests together with the members. A donation inventory presentation ceremony was held on April 28, 2026, at the Kokumin Kyosai coop Hall. Based on this donation, 2,000 trees are scheduled to be planted in Ashigawa-cho, Fuefuki City, Yamanashi Prefecture.

We will continue to promote efforts toward achieving carbon neutrality together with our members.

It is an initiative to create forests that connect to the future together with union members. By donating the paper costs saved through members' registration on My Page to forestation activities, the organization aims to contribute to CO2 absorption.
Using My Page not only reduces paper consumption but also leads to a reduction in CO2 emitted during the manufacturing, delivery, and disposal of paper.
We will continue eco-friendly initiatives with our union members.

■ About Present Tree (Certified NPO Environmental Relations)
A forest regeneration project launched in January 2005 by the certified NPO Environmental Relations. They plant trees in disaster-stricken areas and unplanted lands, taking 10 years to regenerate them into forests close to natural ones. As of May 1, 2026, a total of 446,541 trees have been planted in 60 locations domestically and 2 locations overseas.
