Release of Interview Video & Article: 'Data Can Be Freer — The Future of Data Security Pioneered by the Co-creation of ZenmuTech and AIST'

ZenmuTech Inc. (hereinafter ZenmuTech), which pursues data protection and data utilization through "secret sharing technology" that manages information in a distributed manner after encryption, has released an interview video and article. As part of strengthening its collaboration with the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (hereinafter AIST) in the social implementation of secret sharing and secret computation technologies, Goichiro Hanaoka, Principal Research Manager at the Cyber Physical Security Research Center (CPSEC) of AIST, and Yasuhisa Abe, Representative Director, President and CEO of ZenmuTech, held a dialogue on the theme of the future of data security opened up by their co-creation.

As the value of data analytics continues to rise in the AI era, data security is required not only to protect data but also to play a role in allowing it to be safely utilized and circulated.

ZenmuTech has set the mission of realizing a society where "Data can be freer," promoting the social implementation of secret sharing and secret computation technologies.

In 2018, to accelerate the commercialization of its proprietary secret sharing technology, the company began joint research with AIST, working on the safety evaluation and safety proof of the technology. Within AIST, the Cyber Physical Security Research Center (hereinafter CPSEC) is the only research division exclusively specialized in security technology. While dealing with various companies including major corporations at the time, Goichiro Hanaoka, Principal Research Manager at CPSEC who primarily researches cryptographic theory focusing on highly functional cryptography, paid attention to ZenmuTech, which was still a little-known startup back then.

In this session, Yasuhisa Abe of ZenmuTech conversed with Mr. Hanaoka about why AIST trusted ZenmuTech and worked together on the social implementation of secret sharing and secret computation technologies, the current state of cryptographic technology, and the importance of social implementation and ensuring safety.
