Zenken Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Junnosuke Hayashi; hereinafter "Zenken") announced on April 30, 2026, that it has been awarded a contract from Niigata Prefecture for the FY2026 "Support for Foreign Nursing Care Workers to Acquire National Certification" project.
This training program is a prefectural initiative aimed at creating a supportive environment for foreign nursing care workers in Niigata Prefecture and promoting their career advancement. It supports foreign nursing care workers accepted under programs such as Specified Skilled Worker No. 1 and technical intern training. These individuals have a maximum period of stay of five years. However, by passing the national nursing care worker examination, they can obtain a "nursing care" residence status, enabling them to work long-term in Japan's nursing care sector.
Zenken will conduct a six-month online training program for foreign nursing care workers in Niigata Prefecture, targeting success in the 39th (FY2026) National Nursing Care Worker Examination. This program will assign personal learning supporters to students, developing a meticulous training curriculum that identifies and overcomes individual weaknesses.
Furthermore, as part of support aimed at long-term "retention" in the region, in-person "participant exchange meetings" will be held. These meetings will provide opportunities for students learning towards the same goal to build networks and expand mutual support.
By providing comprehensive support not only for exam preparation but also for both learning and mental aspects, Zenken will promote the active participation and retention of foreign talent in Niigata Prefecture's nursing care sector.
Zenken has continuously been awarded this training project by Niigata Prefecture since last year. Additionally, Zenken has newly been awarded the FY2026 "Overseas Local Matching Support Project for Foreign Nursing Care Workers," engaging in support from the stage of introducing prospective nursing care workers from overseas.
Moving forward, Zenken will continue to cooperate with local governments to contribute to establishing a system where foreign nursing care workers are accepted as members of the local community and can work long-term.
