Yutaka Kaihatsu Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Osaka City; Representative Director: Yuki Shimizu), a specialized civil engineering company responsible for foundation work, pile driving, and earth retention work, has been certified as a "Health & Productivity Management Outstanding Organization 2026 (Small and Medium-sized Enterprise Category)".

Our company has been certified for 8 consecutive years since 2019, and following last year, has also been selected as one of the "Next Bright 1000" companies for its excellent health and productivity management initiatives among small and medium-sized enterprises.

Health and Productivity Management Initiatives Started from a "Challenge"

Yutaka Kaihatsu began its health and productivity management initiatives in 2017. The catalyst was participation in the "Health Up Challenge," a health promotion program implemented by the Civil Engineering and Construction Health Insurance Association.

At the time, facing challenges such as an aging workforce and difficulties in securing human resources, the company believed that creating an environment where veteran employees, who are the main workforce, could work healthily for a long time would lead to the company's sustainable growth, thus formally launching its health and productivity management efforts.

Young Team "Asobu" Promotes Health and Productivity Management

Health and productivity management initiatives are managed overall by general affairs members, while a team primarily composed of young employees within the company, called "Asobu" (meaning "play" in Japanese), is responsible for planning and operation.

"Asobu" is an internal project team that also handles planning, public relations, recruitment, and branding, and it also formulates health measures. By having young employees take the lead, plans that field employees can easily participate in are created, which also leads to the revitalization of internal communication.

Enjoyable Health Events That Continue

The company actively implements health events that employees can enjoy participating in.

In the "Dokepon Walk" (formerly "Arukatsu") walking event organized and operated by the National Civil Engineering and Construction National Health Insurance Association, young employees (Asobu) serve as team leaders, and employees compete in four teams based on their step counts. Winning teams receive awards and health-related prizes, creating an environment where employees can actively engage while having fun.

In addition, physical fitness tests and Vegi-Check (vegetable intake check) are conducted separately from regular health check-ups, providing opportunities for employees to review their own health status. Furthermore, in monthly internal study sessions held twice a month, an employee who is a female baseball player working with a dual career (balancing sports and work) serves as an instructor, conducting health lectures such as stretching, thereby enhancing health awareness among employees through mutual learning.

Creating a Comfortable Workplace Based on Health and Productivity Management

In conjunction with its health and productivity management initiatives, Yutaka Kaihatsu is also working to create a workplace environment where employees can continue to work with peace of mind. Ahead of other small and medium-sized construction companies, it has introduced a complete two-day weekend system, established a work interval system, and made working hours flexible, including hiring dual-career individuals (balancing sports and work), to create an environment where work-life balance can be maintained.

Furthermore, by hiring female employees as safety managers, the company is also focusing on promoting women's active participation in construction sites. And in April 2026, Yutaka Kaihatsu plans to hire foreign talent for the first time as construction management staff, aiming for further organizational revitalization by welcoming new human resources.

Towards Building a Company Based on Health and Productivity Management

Yutaka Kaihatsu will continue to create an environment where each employee can work safely and for a long time.

We aim to build an organization that can grow sustainably while balancing employee health and ease of work.
