YTGATE Inc. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Yutaro Takahashi; hereinafter "YTGATE") will commence a business alliance with Japan Post Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Shinya Koike; hereinafter "Japan Post") on April 1, 2026, aimed at preventing fraudulent receipts in e-commerce (EC) transactions.
Overview of the Initiative
YTGATE leverages its advanced analytical capabilities, improvement know-how, and track record of collaboration with card companies, cultivated through consulting for payment approval rate improvement and fraud prevention support for EC businesses. Meanwhile, Japan Post has played a vital role as social infrastructure for many years, based on its nationwide logistics network and delivery track record.
In current online shopping, there is a "dilemma" where strengthening fraud countermeasures compromises the user experience, while prioritizing the user experience makes it easier for fraud to occur. This initiative aims to resolve this dilemma by combining the strengths of both parties, providing a smooth purchasing experience for legitimate users while appropriately blocking malicious users, thereby achieving both goals.
In this initiative, YTGATE will utilize "YTGuard," a SaaS that provides end-to-end fraud detection, cart abandonment prevention, and payment data visualization, to conduct "payment health checkups" and optimization support for EC businesses nationwide. While premised on deterring fraudulent transactions, the goal is to maximize sales and reduce risks for EC businesses by improving and maintaining payment success rates at a high level.
Starting with this partnership, we will work to create an environment where EC businesses can expand their operations with peace of mind, and promote the construction of a sound and highly reliable EC transaction foundation where consumers can safely and smoothly purchase and reliably receive products.
Background of the Collaboration
With the expansion of the EC market, fraudulent credit card transactions have become a major social issue. According to announcements by the Japan Credit Association (JCA), the total damage from credit card fraud in 2025 exceeded 51 billion yen, and the scale of fraud damage continues to remain at a high level. Furthermore, while the effect of 3D Secure, which became mandatory in April 2025, has seen a certain suppression of fraud centered on number theft, fraud methods are becoming more complex and diverse, with damage from counterfeit cards increasing by 22.0% year-on-year. Under these circumstances, it is difficult to sufficiently grasp the signs of fraud and respond accurately with measures that rely on information in individual areas such as payment, delivery, and receipt.
Based on this awareness of the issues, YTGATE and Japan Post have reached the conclusion that "not separating payment and logistics, but facing fraud through the entire commercial flow is what enhances the reliability of EC transactions and, by extension, improves the safety of society as a whole," leading to the start of this initiative.

Comments from Each Company
Yutaro Takahashi, Representative Director, YTGATE Inc.
I feel it is very significant to be able to work on advancing fraud countermeasures in EC transactions together with Japan Post, a company that supports social infrastructure. In recent years, while institutional development such as the mandatory implementation of 3D Secure has progressed, fraud methods have become more complex and diverse, and it is no longer an issue that can be completed by payment alone or logistics alone. I believe that the perspective of facing fraud through the entire commercial flow, including payment authorization, delivery, and receipt, is essential to enhance the reliability of EC transactions. Through this partnership, we aim for a smoother and safer purchasing experience for legitimate users and a stronger defense against malicious users. Under our mission of "Optimizing payments and connecting the world," we will continue to work on building a transaction foundation that is valuable for EC businesses, consumers, and society as a whole.

Starting with this partnership, we will work to create an environment where EC businesses can expand their operations with peace of mind, and promote the construction of a sound and highly reliable EC transaction foundation where consumers can safely and smoothly purchase and reliably receive products.
