Yonenoya was founded in 1948 at the east exit of Meitetsu Iwakura Station. While "O-yone-san" (O-yone Murase) worked as a railroad crossing guard and bicycle attendant, she offered dango and okonomiyaki to hungry children and people returning from work, and her "warm deliciousness" became famous, leading to the birth of Yonenoya.
