We are pleased to report on the events we participated in as part of the "EX Community Project" during May and June 2026.
We had many events in various locations during May and June, and many people attended each one. Thank you all!
As part of the "EX Community Project," Yokohama Excellence promotes sustainable town development with stakeholders in a wide range of fields, including education (Future Career), environment (Future Green), disaster prevention, and multicultural coexistence. May 2026 Events
May 18, 2026 (Mon) Minamiyoshida Elementary School Basketball Clinic
We held a basketball clinic for 108 fifth-graders at Yokohama Municipal Minamiyoshida Elementary School, with whom we collaborate as Smile Ambassadors. The day included basic practice in passing, dribbling, and shooting, as well as drills that required teamwork. The children actively moved their bodies and experienced the fun of basketball. It was also an opportunity to convey the importance of cooperation with peers and the joy of challenging themselves. We will continue to support the growth of local children through our activities with Smile Ambassadors.
May 19, 2026 (Tue) Public Relations Office of Totsuka Ward Early Morning Cleanup We participated in the early morning cleanup activity organized by the Public Relations Office of Totsuka Ward. Staff from Yokohama Excellence participated and carried out cleanup activities around Totsuka Station. We worked with local residents to beautify the town through garbage collection. We will continue to participate in beautification activities as a member of the community and contribute to creating a more livable town.
May 27, 2026 (Wed) Eboshida Elementary School After-School Kids Club | Basketball Clinic We held a basketball clinic at the Eboshida Elementary School After-School Kids Club, with 30 children participating. Many of the children were experiencing basketball for the first time, and we saw many smiling faces as they tried dribbling and shooting! It was a valuable opportunity to help them feel the joy of physical activity through sports and to deepen our interaction with the local children.
May 29, 2026 (Fri) "Let's Clean Up Yokohama Station!" Campaign
We participated in the "Let's Clean Up Yokohama Station!" campaign. Our staff participated in cleanup activities around the west exit of Yokohama Station. We worked to beautify the environment around Yokohama Station, which is used by many people daily. We will continue to contribute to creating a clean town in cooperation with local residents.

May 29, 2026 (Fri) Naka Ward Cleanup Day 2026
We participated in "Naka Ward Cleanup Day 2026." On the day, our staff participated in cleanup activities, mainly around Odori Park. We picked up garbage with local residents and worked to beautify the town. We will continue to engage in community-based activities as part of our hometown activities.
May 30, 2026 (Sat) Hello! Sympho Stage
As part of the "EX Community Project | Future Excitement," we participated in "Hello! Sympho Stage" held at Yokohama Sympho Stage. We set up a shooting experience booth, which was enjoyed by 217 children.
The event was memorable for the children who tried multiple times and the smiles of those experiencing basketball for the first time. It was a valuable opportunity to create experiential opportunities through sports and deepen our interaction with the local community.
May 31, 2026 (Sun) Hama Fes Y167
This year, as a member of the Yokohama Sports Partners, we exhibited at "Hama Fes Y167 Sports Park." On the day, 654 children participated in the shooting experience, allowing many people to enjoy the fun of basketball. We also had performances by Yokohama Excellence's official cheerleaders, "ELEGANCE" and "ELEGANCE Kids." The venue was filled with excitement as we danced the Yokohama City Song together with the attendees. It was a valuable opportunity to interact with many people through Hama Fes, one of Yokohama's representative events.
June 2026 Events
June 1-2, 2026 (Mon-Tue) Yokohama Port Opening Festival
As part of the "EX Community Project," we participated in the "Yokohama Port Opening Festival," which celebrates the opening of Yokohama Port. We set up a "Shoot Challenge" booth and had our official cheerleaders, "ELEGANCE," perform on stage.
This time, we also set up a "Shoot Challenge" booth in the "Soaked Street" water play area! Many children happily participated in this unique experience combining water play and basketball, making the venue very lively.
On June 2 (Tue), the anniversary of the port's opening, ELEGANCE also performed on stage! We celebrated the opening of Yokohama Port and livened up the event together with everyone who attended.
Yokohama Excellence will continue to work with the residents of Yokohama, our hometown, to promote the charm of the region and create excitement through sports.
June 5, 2026 (Fri) Yokohama Budokan Rice Planting
We participated again this year in "Yokohama Budokan Rice," a project for growing Yokohama-produced rice, a collaboration between the Yokohama Sports Association (operating Yokohama Budokan) and Mitsuhashi Co., Ltd.
This was our fourth year participating in rice planting, and this time, "#18 Coulibaly Serin Mourtala" joined us! It seemed to be a good workout, involving many movements different from basketball!
We will continue to work together to raise awareness of Yokohama-produced rice through "Yokohama Budokan Rice," improve its value, and promote initiatives related to food education. Thank you for the valuable opportunity again this year!

June 9, 2026 (Tue) Minamiyoshida Elementary School "Yokohama Budokan Rice" Planting
As part of the "EX Community Project," and to further promote the initiative of growing Yokohama-produced rice "Yokohama Budokan Rice," we held a rice planting event on the school grounds with the fifth-graders of Yokohama Municipal Minamiyoshida Elementary School (Minami Ward)!
With the aim of connecting people learning about Yokohama-produced rice to eating it, and spreading the initiative together with local children, we had the students experience planting rice in the school's flowerbed, which was transformed into a rice paddy. The children enjoyed the feel of the soil as they planted the rice seedlings in the newly prepared flowerbed! We will continue to grow "Yokohama Budokan Rice" together to spread the initiative of Yokohama-produced rice cultivation.
Additionally, Mr. Shun Furukawa from the Public Relations Section, Accounting and Planning Department, General Affairs Division of Mitsuhashi Co., Ltd. gave a talk about "Rice Cultivation," which the children enjoyed learning through quizzes and other activities.
June 16, 2026 (Tue) Yokohama City Council of Social Welfare "Yoko Kifu" Donation Ceremony
As part of the "EX Community Project," we held a donation ceremony for "Donation-Linked Sponsorships" in collaboration with the Yokohama City Council of Social Welfare "Yoko Kifu."
What are "Donation-Linked Sponsorships"? Yokohama Excellence sells Smile Passes and Community Project Sponsorships as donation-linked sponsorships. A portion (2%) of these sponsorships is donated to the Yokohama City Council of Social Welfare "Yoko Kifu."
We received many sponsorships for Smile Passes and Community Projects for the 2025-2026 season, resulting in a donation amount of 438,000 yen. Compared to last year's donation of 105,000 yen, the donation-linked sponsorships for the 2025-2026 season achieved approximately four times the results.
We sincerely thank you for your continued support of the club's activities. We aim to contribute to the development of local welfare through sports by collaborating with various stakeholders.
June 19, 2026 (Fri) Kishiya Elementary School "Future Career" (Career Talk)
As part of the "EX Community Project," we conducted a "Future Career" talk for the sixth-graders of Yokohama Municipal Kishiya Elementary School (Tsurumi Ward).
In this talk, we discussed the "EX Community Project," an initiative that the club is promoting for community collaboration. We hope it served as an opportunity for the students to learn in an easy-to-understand way about the value created when companies, sports, and communities connect, providing hints for their research on "regional revitalization."
June 20, 2026 (Sat) Pass to the Future! Environmental Action & Factory Tour for Parents and Children Supported by Synsais
We held a special collaborative event, "Pass to the Future! Environmental Action & Factory Tour for Parents and Children Supported by Synsais," with Yokohama Excellence and our official partner, Synsais Co., Ltd.!
From Yokohama Excellence, "#8 Tatsuya Nishiyama" and "#18 Coulibaly Serin Mourtala" participated. The children were amazed by the size and depth of the waste pit they saw up close for the first time, and in the crane operation room, they exclaimed that the crane grabbing garbage looked like a "UFO catcher!"
It was a special day that combined learning and experience, connecting the community, environment, and future through collaboration between a professional sports club and a company! Thank you to everyone who participated!

June 23, 2026 (Tue) Yokohama Kodomo Fes 2026
As part of the "EX Community Project," we participated in "Yokohama Kodomo Fes 2026" held at Yokohama Budokan! In this event, where children from kindergartens and nursery schools in Yokohama City could experience various sports and games, Yokohama Excellence conducted a basketball experience session and a shooting challenge.
For the basketball experience session, we implemented a program incorporating elements of play with the aim of helping children touch the ball and feel the joy of moving their bodies. Children experiencing basketball for the first time were seen enthusiastically participating. Additionally, Mr. Leon Shinohama, who performed at the 2025 NHK Kohaku Uta Gassen, visited our shooting challenge booth and helped liven up the event!
Over 700 children participated on the day, and it was a day full of smiles, with many saying, "It was fun!" and "I want to do it again!" We will continue to deliver the fun of basketball and sports to more children and encourage physical activity.
June 24, 2026 (Wed) Yokohama Station West Exit Cleanup Activity
This month, Yokohama Excellence participated in the "Cleanup Activity around Yokohama Station West Exit" organized by the Nishi Ward Office. Our staff, along with local residents, carried out cleanup activities around the west exit of Yokohama Station, working to beautify the town. On the day, we particularly noticed a large number of cigarette butts, reinforcing the importance of preventing littering and the significance of continuous efforts.
Yokohama Excellence will continue to work with local residents on hometown beautification activities and contribute to creating a more livable town.
Announcement of Basketball Clinics
As part of the "EX Community Project," we are holding "Basketball Clinics" for elementary school students in Yokohama City. This activity aims to provide "an environment where children can smile" and "create accessible sports environments," contributing to the development of the next generation of children by conveying the fun of basketball and "connections with the local community through sports."

A professional basketball club based in Yokohama. Formerly known as "Tokyo Excellence," the club name was changed to "Yokohama Excellence / YOKOHAMA EXCELLENCE" in 2021 when the team relocated its base to Yokohama.
As a professional basketball club, in addition to game operations, we focus on hometown activities, including participating in events and holding basketball clinics, with over 250 community activities annually.
