### Resona Group B.LEAGUE 2025-26 B2 League Section 28: Yokohama EX 88 - 54 Aomori (Win)

Despite being a weekday, more than 3,900 boosters from both clubs gathered at the arena for the final Yokohama BUNTAI game of the season, which was the 6th meeting with Aomori Watts this season.

In the opening moments, Aomori took the lead, but #5 Tariqi Dickson Jr., who was in the starting five, scored the first points for the team to catch up. However, the first quarter (1Q) was tough as the team's 3-point success was suppressed to zero, ending with a 13-16 deficit.

In the second quarter (2Q), Yokohama EX took control. While struggling with 3-point percentage, #1 Trey Boyd III scored 15 points, making 100% (5/5) of his 2-point shots! The ace, whose participation was in doubt after an injury in the previous game, showed he is back in top form. Supported by #21 Elijah Williams and #93 Junki Joera, the team recorded 34 points in 2Q. With a buzzer-beater by #1 Trey Boyd III, Yokohama EX successfully overturned the score to 47-33 by the end of 2Q.

At the start of 3Q, #4 Stephen Hurt and #21 Elijah Williams continued to score. #18 Coulibaly Serigne Mourtala recorded a team-high 8 points in 3Q, maintaining the rhythm and ending the quarter at 67-41.

In the 4Q, #18 Coulibaly Serigne Mourtala continued his performance, ultimately setting a new career high with 18 points. The game also featured a retirement ceremony for Mr. Keitaro Kimura (#88). The winning shot that brought the score to 88 points was made by #2 Runa Kawai. Registered as a Special Designated Player in March, #2 Runa Kawai made his first roster appearance and scored his first points just before the end of the game! The final Yokohama BUNTAI game of the season ended with such a memorial victory.

### Man of the Match: #21 Elijah Williams (21 pts, 3 ast, 8 reb) "Hello? Good evening! We stumbled in 1Q, but I think we played a good game overall, especially staying focused on defense. I want everyone to enjoy our play heading into the playoffs. My teammates are like family. We have more games coming up, and I will do my best to perform well. Thank you!"

### Post-Game Comments

**#2 Runa Kawai** "I am honestly happy that I could make my debut. The team had a slow start, but the seniors brought a good flow, which created the chance for me to play. I'm grateful for that. When I scored, I was so happy! Looking at the video later, I saw my seniors on the court cheering with their hands up; that made me very happy. It was a move I do in practice, but it felt like slow-motion, and the pressure was huge. The easiest shot felt the most difficult, but I'm glad I could make it."

**#6 Sheikh Keita** "I'm glad we won today. I want to become a necessary presence for the team by making shots when needed. I will prepare well to carry this momentum into this weekend's home game against Shinshu. Thank you!"

**#18 Coulibaly Serigne Mourtala** "We started poorly today, but we built a good flow by running from our defense. However, if we start like this against Shinshu, the leaders of the East District, we won't win. We have lost four times to Shinshu, so we cannot afford to lose the next two games. If we bring energy with the support of our fans (EXs), we can win. I'm happy to get a career high (18 pts)! I'll buy donuts for everyone! (laughs)"

**Head Coach Ryuji Kawai** "Last time at Yokohama BUNTAI, we lost a close game to Fukui. Today, we came with the mindset that we must win at Yokohama BUNTAI no matter what. Although #20 Zack Moore was out due to poor condition, #1 Trey Boyd III worked hard today while we controlled his playing time. #6 Sheikh Keita also made a great comeback. #8 Tatsuya Nishiyama has been doing a great job since #13 Sora Ohashi left. We want to take the momentum from these three games into the weekend. Please come to Yokohama Budokan and support our players with an atmosphere like the playoffs!"
