Round 27: Iwate Big Bulls Game

Game 1 ⚪︎ Iwate 79 - 93 Yokohama EX (Victory)

After suffering losses in both games of the previous round against the Fukui Blow Winds at Yokohama BUNTAI, with scores of "97-98" and "90-95" respectively, we faced the Iwate Big Bulls on the road.

We were looking for revenge after narrowly missing out on victory and aiming to end our losing streak against the Iwate Big Bulls.

Having battled each other in B3 last season, and both achieving promotion to B2 this season, this game was a crucial encounter where we aimed to gain the upper hand in our head-to-head record, having won two and lost two of our previous four matches.

This game, held as an "East Japan Great Earthquake Reconstruction Memorial Match," saw Iwate take control of the pace from the start.

We fell behind early, with the score widening to "Iwate 18-7 Yokohama EX" at 4:45 remaining in the 1st quarter.

Despite struggling to close the gap, we managed to build momentum in the final minute of the 1st quarter with three-pointers from #20 Zack Ryoma Moore and #8 Tatsuya Nishiyama, ending the quarter at "Iwate 25-19 Yokohama EX."

The second quarter also began with a three-pointer, narrowing the deficit to three points at "Iwate 25-22 Yokohama EX," but Iwate responded with two three-pointers, extending their lead again to "Iwate 31-22 Yokohama EX."

We called a timeout to break their momentum, and before the first half's official timeout, #1 Trey Boyd III and #10 Takeo Nagano both reached double digits in scoring, successfully narrowing the gap to "Iwate 37-35 Yokohama EX" by the official timeout.

However, we couldn't quite equalize and finished the first half trailing by three points at "Iwate 48-45 Yokohama EX."

Although we were close but couldn't catch up in the first half, in the second half, #4 Steven Hart hit a three-pointer 2 minutes and 57 seconds into the third quarter, tying the score at "Iwate 52-52 Yokohama EX"!

Then, at 3 minutes and 44 seconds into the third quarter, #10 Takeo Nagano made a three-pointer, giving us the lead at "Iwate 54-55 Yokohama EX"!

Following this, #18 Coulibaly Serimoutala scored 6 points from 2 minutes and 1 second remaining in the 3rd quarter to 43 seconds remaining, helping us finish the 3rd quarter with a lead of "Iwate 65-73 Yokohama EX."
